Microblaze Creations MBC002 FOC Bruticus Upgrade Kit

Posted on 10-22-2013 at 11:59 PM by ORIO under 3rd Party Unlicensed
MB01
Following up on some early leaked prototype pictures of a new unofficial Fall of Cybertron Onslaught figure, we now have further clarification on the figure and the group making it. From new 3rd party group, Microblaze Creations, we have the MB002 FOC Bruticus Upgrade kit. This upgrade, which is arguably one of the nicest looking to come out in awhile, will contain an unofficial Voyager Onslaught figure and a bunch of add-on pieces for the rest of the Fall of Cybertron Deluxe Combaticons. The end result? Well, you'll have to click on the title bar to get a look at the prototype pictures of how this upgrade kit improves on the Hasbro release. At least, as far as game accuracy.

Check out the images by clicking on the title bar.

Nice, but I'd only buy it if they make all 5. This plus Hasbro's limbs still wouldn't be that great, IMHO.
Fort Max
Had to happen. Hope it's affordable.
daimchoc
Looks cool.
LazyAza
Neat, wish they were making an entire set though. I'd actually be more interested in that than Warbo I think.
GAUGE
THAT...actually looks pretty nice.
DJW107PRIME
That's tight. I wonder what the deco will be mabye SDCC/Platnium, G2 or Retail, damn mabye all three at once.
Knightdramon
Very interesting. Here's to hoping this will come out sooner than later...
rosewater
Looks great! Hopefully the price is reasonable.
cylor
I'd be difinitely in for an Impactor remold that fits with the Ruination wreckers.
jbz
Echo's kit still fixes a lot more than this. That head looks good.
Scaleface
Hopefully someone makes a full set eventually, but I'd be happy with the other four remaining the Deluxe size, and making the connectors compatable, so you can replace one member at a time.

Plus thanks to the miricle of repaints, I can get hoth this AND the EchoTF upgrade for DIFFERENT Bruticus'

I wonder if this toy will have a "not-Impactor" remold? Would be nice to have a Voyager Impactor.
daimchoc
Also note that this version of Onslaught is a Voyager not a DX figure as that from the HasTak one.
incapable hulk
Perfect. It fixes the original combiner, and means I dont have to also splash out on 4 further Combaticons.

The other 4 are okay, it was mainly Onslaught who was a problem as the comibined mode really suffers due to his size and other issues.
Trent
Meh. It doesn't fix the fact that Blast Off is a shitty arm or that Brawl is a craptastic leg or that Vortex is stuck in karate chop mode.

Echo's kit is a MUCH better alternative. Fixes issues with all figures, not just one.

I agree with this logic. If all the team members are to be made it will be easier on everyone if they are released one by one while the originals act as stand-ins.

Onslaught was the worse, I think, but I have particular beef with Blastoff's design as well.
Swindle is somewhat okay and Brawl could be slightly bulkier.

I hope they'll solve his potbelly issue though. He's no DOTM Leadfoot.

Zavien
So the four foc limbs are compatible with this mold? That's great this being voyager sized also. Would like to know if they plan on making the whole team or set.

I would want this if we had voyagers of Prime and Megatron, and a leader Grimlock. :I But then Grimlock wouldn't scale with Bruticus... Agh! It's a toy paradox!
Scaleface
Grimlock would be fine as an Ultra if all five Combaticons, Megatron, Optimus and Shockwave were Voyagers. Those would fit with Voyager Soundwave and Blaster and then the Deluxe Autobot cars too.

The problem is Hasbro has figured out two facts...

Deluxe is the most profitiable size class. (they mentioned that a couple years back at a shareholders meeting).

Optimus, Megatron, Starscream and Bumblebee are their top sellers.

So we will continue to get all four of those guys in Deluxe size half the time to maximize profits.
Zavien
Can someone tell me the names of the four limb bots I need for the foc set please. I see them at Walmart all the time.

If its for Bruticus than its: Blast Off, Vortex, Swindle, and Brawl.

But if its for Ruination than its: Twin Twist, Topspin, Roadbuster, Impactor (main body), and Whirl.

This is where they should have started. No competition with Echo's set and you'd pick up more than just folks who bought the Wrecker set. There still isn't a third party Impactor of any kind and that's a shame.
Scaleface
Honestly, you could not only buy each set for different Bruticus', you could mix and match parts.
BScorpinok75
dear unknown 3p company, if you can remold based on the foc impactor figure you will have yourself atleast one customer in myself

For Bruitcus they are: Blast Off, Brawl, Swindle, and Vortex.
deruberhanyok
So... is this basically an oversized KO?
exomega255
holy shit that's awesome
FatedLazarus
Prayers = answered. This news has made my day. This cannot come out soon enough.
General Magnus
Oh nice. If they use that mold to make an Impactor even better.

Nope, if it were an oversized KO it wouldn't solve the issues of the original mold this is a completely new Onslaught mold for the FOC bots.
Megatron31
given it includes new hands its likely we get feet out of the deal anyway

Is that question for real?

C'mon now man...
GaussGunner
Yes, Yes, Yesss!
Kraken
That looks hella cool, tiny Onslaught was by far my biggest problem with FOCicus, and if it fixes the crappy hands as well then that's a Brucie. Definitely keep an eye on this.
mapatel
Interesting. I wonder how this would look with Echos set on the rest of the limbs.

Fully agree with that.

For me the original limbs are just okayish, I am not praising them by any stretch - but on a better Onslaught they should do an okay job. It vastly improves them, and they arent awful.

Whereas the original Onslaught fails badly in virtually every mode.

This figure also looks like it comes with extra hands for Bruticus, which should help to at least improve the arm modes of Blast Off and Vortex.

As someone who doesnt buy a lot of third party, I'd be quite happy to just buy the Onslaught figure and then use the the official limb bots - instead of spending 100's of pounds on 3rd party figures. For someone with my sort of budget, and half arsed approach to collecting - this is a great soloution.

This one figure will solve most of my problems with the FOC Combaticons, and I was going to get the Echo kit originally

Though I will wait and see how the figure turns out first, and the price - before making a final decision.
Rexidus
Oh FUCK yes! Sold. Take my money. You win.

I want the rest of them remade as well. None of the Bruticus figures are good in my eyes. They're mediocre at best. I don't hate on them but I am disappointed.

Lately I keep looking at my FoC figures and the figures released before and after them and just got sad that the wave that got hit the hardest with the Economy cuts was the game figures. The game designs are what I primarily want to collect and a large chunk of what I have are not great figures. So seeing a company strait up redoing some of the designs right makes me super pumped.

Oh also, I'm incredibly impressed with the way this guy looks. He looks amazing. I love how beefy he is.

Now do the rest please.

Not in any way. A knock off is using the exact same mold. It also has a negative connotation because a knock off is a company simply producing a cheaply made and questionable toy simply to profit off someone else work at the consumers expense.

This is a fully original design being produced to fix problems people have with the official release. Nothing about this implies they are only in it to make a quick buck.
exomega255
See, the thing is, they can give Onslaught a bunch of accessories that fixes the other limbs though, so I won't count out limb improvements yet. Looking at blastoff, you can see that it is transformed completely differently so I think they do make a lot of adjustment
Transbot90210
Looks good, very good. All we need now are the Echo feet to have another good combiner.

I wouldn't be surprised if this figure comes with the feet as well. I wish the best for Echo because I was all for his set from the time he showed it in the Radicons section.

Silver lining? We the fans will actually have a decent FoC Bruticus.
halfaway
next question: what color are they coming out with first!

Dunno. Despite his simplistic design and with the exception of his weapon, I think they got at least Brawl very game accurate. But agreed on the others, they could of spilled a little more effort on them. And this coming from the one of the biggest FoC advocates out there.

Didn't Echo's upgrade also transform Blast Off differently to make him look better and more game accurate with the add-ons?
Rexidus
Another reason I love this is because as cool as Echo's kit is it doesn't fix Onslaught's vehicle or robot mode which would have been mission objective #2 or 3 on my list. What Echo is making is really cool and I expect a bunch of people will pick it up but right now I'm not one of them. I'd rather rebuy figures that do it right.
PredaconElder
Maybe they can redo the rest of the Combaticons.
iphdtd
Looks quite nice. My only big concern is that with a torso that is now much larger, would it throw the balance off for the piece? It is going to be quite top heavy now. If they can address that as well, I'd be all over it.
halfaway
IMO the other limbs are nice (though I would be happy to buy if they did all of them)
Onslaught just is too small
frick'n sweet

Thank you for this
KenjaminLinus
This is great, and absolutely needed. I honestly never thought the limbs were THAT bad, it was really Onslaught who destroyed the whole set. I'll definitely be picking one of these up.

Looks like it comes with gestalt hands too. Maybe it'll even have foot pieces as well?

You can see from my sig how much I care for FoC Onslaught's current figure lol

Exactly! Releasing Impactor first would be a smart move as Maketoys did when they released Yellow Giant first, avoiding direct competition with Hercules.
However, between this, Echo's set and Warbotron, I'm afraid we're going to have yet another combiner war.
Rob
This looks really impressive but, so does the Echo upgrade set. I think what will ultimately decide which one I get will be a matter of price and sturdiness (I want my Bruticus to stay a toy not become a display piece).
