It seems Targetmasters are all the rage now. Adding to the official Takara-Tomy releases and TFClub Targetroids, MasterShooter throws it’s hat into the ring with Mega Gun and Brown King. Product bio by Captured Prey:
Mega Gun and Brown King are the debut release of MasterShooter Collectibles! Limited in number and made with the expert help of a fan favorite third party company (who has asked to remain anonymous), these figures will be produced using high quality steel injection molds and durable ABS plastic!Measuring approximately 2.2 inches tall in robot mode and 3.17 inches in weapon mode, Mega Gun and Brown King will be cast in color and pre-painted, ready to make any bot in your collection shake a washer loose with fear when these imposing weapons are aimed at them! Articulated shoulders and elbows allow each figure to aim his own weapon as well, making them the perfect scouts or assassins. The figures are designed with a stepped 4mm to 5mm peg handle, allowing them to be used by original Targetmaster Transformers, and almost all modern figures, too. And, as a bonus, an adaptor is released that allows Classics Starscream or any later version of his mold to carry Mega Gun along with their own weapon under the wing!
Both Mega Gun and Brown King will be limited to 500 pieces each, or produced to meet demand if more pre-orders are received. This item is currently estimated for release early in the second quarter of 2011.

Each figure gives you one adapter. So the two pack gives two adapters. Sorry if the listing wasn't real clear.
RedAlert Rescue
Two adaptors and both guns worn under the wing of Henkei/Classics Dirge would look really neat I think.
It seems silly to only give you one adaptor when you'd probably want one each – also that adaptor might work rather well as a way of shoulder or back mounting the guns on certain toys too. I can see it fitting on chracters people might not originally think of using like Dropshot or the Botcon Megatrons.

This actually happens all the time, whenever technology/opportunity catches up with a concept.

Just like the fact that the club released a Punch Counterpunch and stole people's idea? It is possible that two people came up with a similar idea ( especially one as obvious as this ) around the same time. There is a thread on this board ( which I will PM to you ) that proves MasterShooter was working on this a year ago. No information on the targetroids had been released at that point. So MS did not do the copying, but that does not mean they didn't get copied.
MegaMoonMan
Honestly, I'm liking the targetroid one a lot better, but I probably won't buy either one.
Which one came first? Somebody must have stolen the idea from somebody to have two of these come out at the same time. I guess it could be coincidence, but it's sure sketchy.

This guy is smaller than the targetroid, so less articulation should be expected. He does have full arm articulation though. Shoulders and elbows are ball and socket joints.

£16.80 seems a lot and its a shame this guy isnt poseable unlike the tfclub version but the seeker mount is ingenius, the gun mode is real nice and seen as nobody seems to want to split the tfclub set im very tempted even if megs is like £16.80 i just wish he had leg and shoulder articulation though
If anyone doesnt want there seeker mount from there set or if the creator can print one out of shapeways and sell it seprateley i will gladly buy it from them

Great stuff. I placed an order for two Megatrons and one Browning. They do look oversized for deluxes, though; I'm planning on displaying one Megatron in robot mode, while the other two as guns for Henkei Megatron (admit it, you know it's cool!) and some other Voyager/Ultra figure.
The prices for these figures are very reasonable. When will people learn that third party material — barring Sidearm b/c of aforementioned reasons — will not be equal to the price of a Hasbro mass-marketed product?
Insane Galvatron
What about the 4mm peg so that Hot Rod/Rodimus can hold it too?
Dai-Guard
Alternatively, I wait for the new Legends Megatron and see how easy it would be to mod him with a 5mm peg.
Insane Galvatron
Yes, I believe TFClub is. However, their NotMegatron's gun mode looks more like a gymnast doing the splits than it does a gun.
Dai-Guard
Isn't someone else also making a Megatron targetmaster, along with Optimus, Rodimus, and Starscream?
KnightHawkke
I am hoping to chose them all! well at least one of each anyway, don't want a army of little clone gun guys floating about, want to keep them unique like they were in the first place.

I love that these are Classics sized, and they look really nice. The price is a little high, and if I hadn't just bought (and felt I paid too much for) the Hothead upgrade I'd jump all over this. I still may get them, but i'll have to think about it harder.
Obsidian X
I have no real need for a Megatron version but Browning is a bit tempting.
adconx2
Not feeling these, I'll wait for a review first.
Insane Galvatron
If he has a fist hole the size of Hot Rod or Prime, then yes. He looks to be sized for both size fists. I don't have Squeezeplay, so I have no idea what size his fists are.
Foster
Any idea if Brown King can be held by Squeezeplay?

Last frame "how it really happened" =
Since the first time i saw the movie (1990?) 've been calling hot rod one name : Prime Killer…
Now i see many share the same feeling
killed prime, took his matrix and his job… he's just a decepticon in disguise

Look nice but I have never dealt with Captured Prey on-line before. The price is a tad high but nothing that is going to stop me from ordering them.
