Mastermind Creations Feral Rex R-04 Leo Dux Revealed

Metrocon has just kicked off in British Columbia and 3rd party group Mastermind Creations is in attendance showing off new products. To celebrate, they've sent us an image of the 3rd figure in the Feral Cons (aka Predacons) project; R-04 Leo Dux! This figure is a homage to G1 Razorclaw and will form the torso of the massive Feral Rex. Additional details from Mastermind; this figure will come in at a staggering 8 inches tall and will be available 3rd quarter 2013.

Additionally, recently revealed on Mastermind Creations Facebook page is a color render of R-02 Talon, their unofficial Divebomb figure.

its nice to finally see them make these. I remember a few years back talking to one of the guys of MMC (though at the time there wasn't MMC yet) and he was showing me sketches of predacons and predaking. Looked awesome. This was one of his dream projects to do. Unfortunately lack of funds (certainly not lack of talent) was the holdup back then. I'm happy this dream project is seeing the light for them and for us fans.

It's impossible for me to get excited about something that I can't imagine actually seeing within the next twelve months given that they can't even give us an estimate on Hexatron who is much much further along.

My distaste for silhouettes has not been abated with this. Silhouettes are like over-the-pants HJs. Hard to turn down, but unfulfilling.

That said, I love Predaking, I like MMC's work and I'll be certain to give this a serious look when there's actual information to be had.

Funny as it sounds... I don't mind if they are larger than FP's offerings... particularly because G1 Predaking towered over most other combiners. (Yes, I know beast probably should make a much smaller combiner than all the vehicular ones, but there's something imposing about it.)

I'm excited at the prospect but if course reserve judgement. I dont think I've ever liked their timelines from reveal to release. If anyone can do any lighting of the photos silhouettes it would be sweet.

The torso looks small. And the head is tiny. In Predaking mode I mean. Hope they can make Razorclaw a bit bigger.

Wow a razorclaw with proper proportions not to mention the tease of the our members plus Un-predaking (or would that be Herbaqueen? j/k) And an introduction by fansproject with Tuneup (un-Breakdown) and Speedlimit (un-Wildrider) And I told myself Herc would be the only 3rd party ghestalt. Scramble city love this year and I have no problem with that! My upcoming first born child will be ok with going to community college right?! Or does Sally Mae accept the excuse . . . "BUT it was Predaking!"

I think the size of this predaking should be bigger than the other recent combiner figures like herc since the orginal G1 predaking was the biggest g1 combiner toy.

The alt-modes bug me a bit. Razorclaw and Rampage have *tiny* feet, Rampage's shoulders look odd, and Headstrong seems way too "horizontal/wide" for a Rhino.

Combined form looks awesome of course, but I really like combiners to be good in every mode, even if most people leave them combined 99% of the time.

MMC is really good about pretty fair pricing for what you get, not FP good but pretty good, so I'm hoping these guys are below Herc level pricing, maybe more around Giant. It really comes down to how big these guys are. Though, if it is Herc size and pricing, well, I like Predaking a lot more than Devastator and will drop the money on him. SO glad MMC is doing this.

Although, given MMC record, I don't expect Predaking to be complete before mid 2015.

Shouldn't Predaking be bigger than Devastator/Bruticus tho? If he is Herc sized he'd stand perfectly next to them. However if they are gonna scale with Herc/Superion then he needs to be fucking huge.....18+" at least.

If it comes out in FP/MT combiner size I'd still buy it, but I am really hoping for it to be Herc sized. Even though my prefered combiner size is the more familiar FP/MT scale, I'd LOVE to have a big, baddass, Predaking.

I dig these, but I love my g1 Predaking. I'd want to see some final product photos, but they don't look bad at all from these teases.

this thing looks great so far. i am worried about thhe hips fo teh torso figure supporting all that weigh tin combined mode. we need some'solid ratchets there (like much much much more solid than cyclops has). would love this thing to be herc sized. in my mind predaking is only a tiny bit bigger than the other combiners....who knows...he never had a fight with anyone besides sky lynx if i am remembering correctly so scale is hard to judge.
