Hat tip goes out to TFW2005 boards member ki1983ng for pointing us in the direction of MakeToys website, which happened to reveal a full blown product that looks ready to be shipped out to collectors! No blacked out silhouette teaser this time around, MakeToys has just revealed their City Bot Series with MCB-002 Utopia!
Utopia is MakeToy’s take on the Generation 1 Cityformer Metroplex. Although not much is known about this project, MakeToys supplied a full gallery of all the bells and whistles of the project that is listed for July 2014 – how accurate that is we are unsure since no preorder information has gone up yet.
Images reveal robot mode, city mode, and carrier mode, as well as accessories that include two blasters and what appears to be a small vinyl figure (no details yet given on who the character is).
Check out the full gallery after the jump and keep it here on TFW as new updates come through for MakeToys Utopia!

That's good to know…now I have to think if I can find a way to display both.

Having seen Vladivostok in person? He's definitely worth every penny. And the build quality is superb. Maybe not an upgrade from a different company's offering, but certainly not a downgrade.
And the lights are just icing on the cake

Your friend is a great man and gave you a really wonderful gift.
I'm currently debating with myself if it's worth buying the new Metroplex. The price is tempting and the sculpt gives it more range for some articulations, but I'm worried that in terms of build quality and engineering it might be a sidegrade or even a downgrade.
Transforming Utopia has some annoying bits but if you watch a video and do things in the right order you shouldn't risk breaking anything. Enjoy the bot mode and when you'll feel more confident in handling the figure don't be afraid to try the other modes.

Lucky duck friend, enjoy!!

Well, this was a very Merry Christmas for me. My best friend is downsizing his collection (and he just got the Vladivostok in) and I offered to help him box up what he's getting rid of, reorganize what he's keeping, and help pose those in something more dynamic than an A-stance or museum poses. So he gifted me his Utopia! He's outstanding. Especially next to PX-11 Apocalypse. And then for fun I took shots with the mini-Devastator that came with him. And then I figure a human would be roughly as tall as a nickel compared to Utopia.
I'm a little scared to transform him. I mean, it's Utopia. He was my Holy Grail.

I have some hope that the Vladivostok is the modern Utopia we keep asking for, but I'm very much waiting for it to be in hand before I pay off my preorder.

Adding micro LEDs, 5mm ports, easier rolling and more alloy parts for the more frail arias would make this a Perfect 10 figure.
But those issues could be addressed with an oversized KO…………… Please?

I remember some people breaking the face when he first came out. The head is the only part of this figure that I didn't love (both the aesthetic and the actual design of how it was put together).

Be very careful, the visor is not made well

Took mine out of a box (been in storage since the day I bought it on release… due to life… moving… having kids… etc). Looks so cool. I know the head is two separate pieces due to its transformation but hot damn if it doesn’t feel like I’m going to rip his head off while his face stays attached to the body. Moving the head in any direction sees the head move a ways before the face slowly drags along… not sure if that makes sense. Anyone else’s head like that? So much cooler now that I can see his head
Acteon
It's a hard scene to take a picture of, from my position behind my desk, you can see the head – however, I lowered the gun a notch and that improved things.
NA Ironhide and Ratchet have shipped, so time to change things up again once they land
Super Mecha Dad
If you've messed around with Legacy Metroplex at all it's honestly pretty great, but it would also be VERY easy to retool into a new Metroplex/titan/fort max/brave max, and it's VERY poseable for a titan.
Akupro
I think it would be so much better if you just inverted the position of the arms, that way we could see his head

1 of my biggest collecting regrets was missing on this metroplex……. would kill for a reissue.
lilcarus
yeah man i remember when they couldn't even give those utopia's and dystopia's away. but then one day something just clicked and they became super fucking rare. just like that HASTAK grand maximus those were warming the shelves even harder than these. but now look at the prices those are fetching.

It’s funny; I initially skipped Utopia for Generations Metroplex (because bigger must be better, right?) but after getting Titans Returns Trypticon, I eventually decided to sell Gen Plex and get Utopia.
So glad I did!
IMHO he scales better to Tryps than Hasbro’s Plex (I don’t mind that both are smaller than Fort Max & Scorpy; I prefer them that way).
Napalm
Thankfully this was before he was fetching those kind of batshit crazy numbers but still.. ridiculously fucking expensive nonetheless.
Super Mecha Dad
can't imagine spending eight, nine hundred bucks and getting a bunch of QC issues. I'd lose my absolute shit.

Never got KO Oversized to 22"-24" to match Hasbro titans. I was waiting for that one
