Third party group Maketoys has updated their website with final, high resolution photos of their highly anticipated green Giant. Their homage to G1 Devastator was previously released with a deco resembling G2 Devastator. In addition to the different color scheme, green Giant features a remolded, detachable crane which doubles as an axe or club weapon, and a second combined mode head with an articulated mouth and visor.
Green Giant is due out towards the end of July or early August.
Staff Note: This kit is an unofficial product not produced or endorsed by Hasbro or Takara/Tomy.
CZ Hazard
Solved! I'd put both half of the guns into the one box by accident, duh!
CZ Hazard
So weird, I had the whole gun before I started putting them away, and now that part of the weapon has just disappeared.
Napalm
Should be this part of the gun. From baltmatrix's review.

CZ Hazard
Need help please, I'm repackaging Maketoys Giant (first run) and there seems to be something missing, can anyone tell me what should be packed in the bottom left? The gun seemed to break and store into the other two boxes no problem. Thanks all.

As style is aged of course and deviates a lot from original Devastator ,but for simple poses also KO ,if i find a,decent boxset, is very sturdy? In some comparisons Giant maketoys beats Gravity builder as stability, just speaking about
original ones. Giant is rather good and appears fun to play as chug toys so for ko prices i could proceed ,what do you think?
Stykthyn
Great observation. I have the original.
Kuma Style
I don't want to spam up the thread talking about the KO when the KO has a thread (which has reports of paint and other q.c. issues.) I simply asked if you bought the original or the KO in relevance to the guy's question and I don't even think you answered that.
Stykthyn
I've never handled one, but again from the video I posted they look in par. Of course as with any consumer good quality from unit to unit may vary. The og is still available but I don't feel it's worth the 350 dollars tfsource is asking for it. A complete used set in the 90- 125 range of you can find one is possible. Honestly at 99 in would give the ko set a go.
Kuma Style
I'm talking in terms of aesthetic and quality. I should have clarified.

I think MT ko is just 1:1. It's the GT devastator got OS version, which is Jinbao.
Stykthyn
Really? I was unaware of that fact. What scale is it? I've watched a few videos and the ko looks identical in size. This guy has a 3 part series and covers the ko in depth
Kuma Style
Did you get the Maketoys release or the KO? Asking because he's specifically asking about the KO which isn't 1:1 with the original release.
Insane Galvatron
Same here. In fact, they set such a high bar that almost every 3rd party thing I tried after felt cheap and not worth it.

My first foray into the 3P scene. You never forget your first time…
TFao
Is this guy THE most sturdy, solidly built combiner EVER? Methinks so
Trent
Still love mine. It’s aged a little bit but given it’s now 10 years old I still recommend it.

the og Goat …. he is like the Bill Russell of 3P combiners

This guy is the absolute best at being its own Devastator. I love it so much.
Stykthyn
If you like the generations chug style I'd go for it. I bought him because I wanted a devastator in size with the cw figures. Found a sweet deal on a used set and while there are some slight issues I have with the mold, he's amazing in hand. I did some customizing with decals and dry brush and he pops even more. Can't recommend him enough, especially compared to my GT Gravity Builder. Green giant stays together , holds better poses, and still feels like quality while doing it.
