Some new images have been released showing FansToys next Iron Dibot release. Revisiting their first Dinobot, the group will be doing a second version of their popular Scoria, who was based on Generation 1 Slag. This version will be based on the original toy, rather than the cartoon animation model, so will feature details such as a black red, red triceratops horns and an all-chrome gun.
There are two versions of the Scoria Toy Version coming in April 2015 – a mass retail one FT-04T, and one which is limited to 1000 pieces, FT-04X.
Our sponsor TFSource currently has both versions up for preorder:
FT-04T Scoria Toy Version
FT-04X Scoria Limited Edition Version

Dammit, too late!
I'm keen for a toy version of this one if anyone's looking to part with theirs.

Have one up in the BST if anyone is looking!

When I customize transformable figures these days, I prefer to remove paint.

Talking to a guy who's built 229 Gunpla, and has the infinite backlog, I can imagine. but If you're not afraid to take a brush to it, you can turn your regular Scoria into the version you want in no time.

I'm good at painting but I'd prefer to keep the parts factory. I used to paint A LOT of Macross Valkyries and after about the 30th one, I was burned out.

That would be great. Here's my current display options. I can have a red or a silver face with open or closed mouth.
Although both helmets have been painted red, the plastic beneath both of them is red(I discovered this after opening them to change the face). I'm guessing that if the FT-04T comes with a red helmet, it is probably black plastic beneath red paint.

If the 04T comes with 2 x black helmets + red visor, I will trade with you.

Plan B, Testors Acrylic Black paint is cheaper.

I purchased the first run Scoria and the one thing that bothered me was that it came with two red helmets and two blue blue visors. I've been looking for someone to trade a set for the black helmet and red visor so I don't have two identical parts but it looks like I'd need to buy an entire figure for those parts.

Sorry it's an old picture, it's the only one I've got of Scoria before I boxed it up. the simple things make all the difference.

Chrome red horns, black thighs, silver and black head. On the regular it's chrome silver horns, red head, silver thighs.

The T version colors that @Hadlen_Weltall described are colors that resemble the colors on the original G1 toy from 1985, hence "T".
Regular Scoria colors are from the G1 cartoon.
This is the same case for Fanstoys Soar/SoarT.
Hadlen_Weltall
All that's different are the colors for the dino-mode head and horns, robot mode's thigh color and head color (black and silver, red visor), otherwise it's the exact same figure, complete with the added faces and feet extensions for the official Grimlock.

Just like to check if anyone could tell me the difference between the regular Scoria and the 04T set also what accessories/faces it comes with?
ChromeMagnus
Don't feel sorry.

Its a pain tbh, you have to completely disassemble the head, including all the pins to get at it.
I was looking to do it for my x set and in the end just bought a new head with blue eyes from FT when they had spares.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I'm thinking about putting him back in Dino mode for display and that's reminded me I never got round to changing the colour of the eyes…
Did anybody ever figure out how to open the Dino head up on these to get at the eyes?
knightmare6
Ugh, the left foot of my Scoria now has the gold chrome flaking off at the top :/

I picked up a used version of FT-04T and I'm loving it, but I didn't realize this version doesn't come with a blue visor to swap out for the head. I tried contacting the fanstoys rep but he wasn't able to help me out. Anyone have any ideas on where I could get ahold of one?
ChromeMagnus
Is the FT-04T toy version still available anywhere?
