Fansproject Munitioner and Explorer Re-release Final Colossus Images

When is the ROTF Bruticus set releasing?

This will....test my resolve. I'm paying for a pretty huge car repair bill and had promised I'd be pressing the pause button on collecting. But I do have an Energon Barricade. If these things are released at retail price, I don't see how I'd be able to pass them up.

Anyone have a clue where they'll be released? FPC, Robot Kingdom, Big Bad Toy Store?

How much were these when first released anyways?

If the rumors are indeed true, I'd get the FP add-ons and the new Bruti set to keep in alt/bot modes. I even have a spare PCC Heavytread I can mod (again) as Brawl if I want to. Mixing and matching the various limbs on (my exisiting) FP Colossus would be fun too. Make it happen, FP! And throw in a chest shield while you're at it too!

YES. I managed to find a Universe Bruticus set in a store here for $70 a few months ago. Finally I'll be able to complete it!

Hopefully these colors will look good with the ROTF set if this rumor is true.
I'm not against getting the new one, but if I can save myself some money by just getting this reissue I'll be a tad happier.

the comments that acompanied the post they had posted a link to robot kingdom. it was for the asian market bruticus. in the post they commented that their source was from FP but stated it was "rumour". so only time will tell.

Huh? Munitioner and Explorer are already in g1 colors

Munitioner was originally more of a tan or gold color (think SDCC Swindle). I think they'll re-release it with a much brighter yellow like the main release of FOC Swindle.

I'd think FoC colours would be more like it but then they were quite G1 so I guess its more of a slight change then whole new paint job

There's a rumor that FP's small-headed combiners will be explained in their upcoming lore.
When theyre going to release in G1 colors to match the Brute, weren't the originals in G1? Just wanna make sure I'm not missing anything.

This rumor almost makes me wanna buy that god awful Energon Bruticus again.

There is still an ass load of demand for these two. A reissue would be best for a lot of people, even with a minor repaint.

Darker hues of the same colors.

If anything, these could be made to match the colors of the G1 cartoon and toys. G1 Swindle in his toy and cartoon appearances was more yellow than the more recent Swindle toys (Animated, 1st release Munitioner, and SDCC), which are more of a gold by comparison. G1 Blast-Off was a darker brown and gray (possibly black) in both toy and cartoon incarnations. I'd imagine that they could make the purple Explorer bits into fuchsia, which was another common depiction in the cartoon.

Wouldn't brigher colors clash? This new Bruticus is supposed to be darker than the first one, no?

I honestly don't know. I'm only saying that it's still possible to make them even more G1 faithful than before. They could go for a darker shade of yellow that's still distinct enough from the original Munitioner.

personally, I don't give a damn about the shade of the colors. as long as their close to the original release, it's fine by me

I think people may be focusing too much on the main bots, and not the accessories. I'm thinking "G1 colors" may mean more silvery hands/feet etc, to match G1 and the new re-release. This would also match the Energon release better (for Barricade at least).

The main bots were never the issue for "matching" the Energon release, it was all the other bits that would clash, being more of a tan shade to match the ROTF one.

All of the combiner bits (hands, feet, shoulder connectors, etc.) were all color matched specifically to the RotF Brut. I mean the wheels on FP Brut's feet not matching Energon Barricade's wheels always bugged me.

If the "rumored" FP reissue solved this problem by color matching to the new Brut Max set coming out, or to the Energon Brut, it would go a long way in differentiating this reissue from the originals. Whether the colors on Explorer and Munitioner get changed, or not.

Either way, if it is just a straight reissue of the original XF-02A and 02B, or some sort of a recolor, more FP Brut is ALWAYS a good thing.

Just a line in the post that was throwing me off. Regardless, exciting for those that missed out on this set. It's one of the best 3rd party sets.

I hope this is true! This will be an expensive, but well worth it, year in collecting!!! Hot toys figs and all the TF figs that are coming out!

This is great news. How much do you think they will cost? Because I do not know if I can really get it since the Asia set is already going to cost $130.

I'm not making much of this until an official announcement. "Rumor" could just be some guy speculating that they're going to re-issue them due to Hasbro re-releasing ROTF Bruticus.

I hope they reissue them I have 3/5ths of Bruticus waiting on an Right Arm and Right Leg...... Plus I rather not pay $150 to $200+ for 2 SCOUT Sized figures and Add-on parts..... plus no one sells em seperately without the damn ROTF/Universe set......

Cool, the more people that can get these, the better.

If this turns out to be true, then hopefully they'll reissue city commander when the asia exclusive Ultra Magnus comes out, because I missed out on that one EVERY SINGLE TIME it was released due to money shortages.

There'd be too many minor differences between the original and rumored reissue I'd say... but well... if FP chose to reissue the set, altered or not, it'd be win-win for both FP and Takara.

More folks will go from being soso about buying the Takara set to... ZOMG must-buy for FP Bruticus! Enough folks here are probably nit-picky enough to get an even more G1-accurate FP set as well... and then there's folks that missed out on the original version anyway so...

I just created a picture of the FP set with the Asian Exclusive figures in photoshop. Hopefully this will help people decide on whether or not they want this set. Let me know what you all think

I thought the first set was already G1 colors?

The first set included G1 colored figures, but accessories that matched the Revenge of the Fallen Combaticons team.

For all we know, the G1 comment might have only referred to the accessories like the hands, shoulders, backpack, crotch plate, feet, etc.

Who knows? Maybe they will turn up the saturation in color to make them appear more like their animated counterparts?

If the rumor is true, I hope there are some definite differences between the original upgrade sets and the re-releases sets. I mean, knowing Fans Project, we aren't just talking about different colored accessory pieces. Maybe they'll give the characters different combining guns, and instead of a sniper rifle, maybe some other sort of huge cannon? They'll amaze us one way or another. Although, in all honesty, I would settle for just a straight repaint as well.
