Am I the only one not feeling not-Wildrider's alt-mode? I'm gonna buy Menasor but I was hoping for a newer Ferrari like the F430 or the Berlinetta

apparently not- breakdown and not-wildrider are based on 2 different Lamborghini models.

Well, it's a fictional car, so I agree. But if the other 3 limbs are good, and if Motormaster himself is a classic semi-trailer, I'll live with it.

Still---why a real Lambo and a fake Lambo, instead of a real Lambo and a real Ferrari, like they originally were?

Anyways---anyone else think not-Breakdown's gun looks like G1 Menasor/Motormaster's gun?

I really like the car modes on these guys. The fact that they are concepts and not real cars doesn't bother me. It even makes them a little bit more cool. Robot modes also look great, until you look at them from behind. The kibble there is a little worse than Maketoys Giant's. That combined with the fact that they use add-on parts from the trailer to combine downgrades this Menasor for me. I'll still buy and enjoy it, it'll still be a great looking combiner with good indivisual modes, but I wonder if any of the third paty designers can really step up and make a perfect transformation combiner. FoC Bruticus may not look anywhere near as good as this, but it at least shows that Takara and Hasbro are looking to make a fully self contained combiner. Good lord, typing that out really makes me relize how much I want a Masterpiece combiner.

I'd rather have a partsforming combiner like FP Bruticus than a self-integrated combiner like FOC Bruticus...
On a side note: what's with that hole/port on Wildrider's crotch?

I think having integrated parts in a combiner is overrated. Especially if it makes the combined mode looks as trashy as FoC Bruticus.

I agree, my point is I want to see the next step up in engineering and have a perfect transformation combiner that looks truely great in all modes. It's possible, in fact Studio Halfeye has already done some stuff years ago and the Bandai's Soul of Chogokin line has some impressive stuff too (they just have one less mode than a Transformers combiner teams have, usually a robot/vehicle and combined mode). It feels like we are on the verge of seeing a masterpiece level combiner, the companies involved just have to believe in it.

Both bots shown so far have that hexagonal hole/port. If I had to guess I would say it has something to do with how they combine in gestalt mode.

Anyway! These guys.. they look so good. I'm drooling. Drooling! At $50 a pop.. I'll pick up the set, easily. FP is really leading the pack here..

$50 for each of the limbs! If not-Motormaster is $70 then that's not too bad. I also don't mind parts-forming as long as the parts are functional (like a shield, weapon, etc).

Complete agreement on this one. If it takes parts forming to make the combined mode look great, then do it!

i really like the car modes , but i would have preferred futuristic looking vehicles instead. The alt modes dont really match fansproject's standard aesthetic.

My only concern of Motor Master, he better have cab feet. Bitches love cab feet.

Photo's are nice, FP's one does look nicer I'll give it that all day long (or until a 3p does something with the FOC one), sadly they don't show the hell of having that thing FP made fall apart on you all the time, destroys it own joins and just how off the robot mode of the 3 non FP ones are.

I don't have FOC Bruticus so I can't comment but FP's one to me is not a fun toy to own and have limited play value due to the shear number of parts you need to keep track of.

Looks wise FP wins it but for me it not just how good something looks.

I respect your opinion, but I absolutely disagree with it. Well everything except the destroying it's own joints part. My FP Brut's knee joint on Munitioner is almost gone, but the shoulder joints are just fine.

Nothing falls apart on mine. The play value is off the charts for me. And the number of parts and how they are used in the three different modes are the biggest part of that.

I really just wanna thank FP for making Menasor. He's always been my favorite combiner, and in their styling and with their vehicle mode choices, just...dammit I TOLD MYSELF I WOULDN'T CRY

Huh, really? I have never had that issue with the Colossus. The only thing that tends to pop off on this is the cannon mount on the back.

And to be honest part of the fun for me is the lots and lots of small bits, part of why I like the PE scouting force, but different play patterns I guess.

Still I have to admit that I have been really disappointed with the FOC Bruticus and at this point would be happy to get rid of it for what I paid for it.

It is totally each to there own but honestly I feel the way FP part formed that one is just to much, if you had compared say giant I would probably have agreed with you, its just a lot of the extra weapons in lone robot mode most of, feel very tacked on. Like the shoes on onslaughts back, yes got missiles in them but they are still a big old pair of shoes on his back, or the missile pods on vortex that basically make him fall over.

I know it cos of what they had to work with so I should be more forgiving but really I just want a better toy for the money you have to spend on that.

I know this whole thing probably makes me a hell of a hypercritical as I love TFC Herc and two of them have hands hanging off their backs, but I guess there is a line somewhere for me and FP landed the wrong side of it with that one.

Although put up railracer from RID and you'll find a fully integrated combiner can be done and look freaking awesome.

Well, it couldn't be helped considering that they were modifying a preexisting gestalt. Can't be helped, I guess. I'm personally pretty middle-of-the-road when it comes to parts-forming gestalts.

Considering a combiner is, by its definition, a parts-former (very big parts; entire robots in fact), I'm okay with a certain degree. But I'm really not down with gestalts that are just vehicles glued to a giant robot; which is unfortunately exactly what Menasor looked like most of the time in the old show..

Just a guess after seeing that silhouette pic, but it looks like Motor Master's cab may connect to these guys by those ports. Car in front of Menasor leg, MM's cab in the back (calf-ish)?

My only point of trepidation concerning the Menasor silhouette is that his elbow joints appear to be placed rather...high. Will probably look better when we see it in full.

The shoulders look really high in that silhouette, and there doesn't appear to be much distance between the shoulder joint and the elbow. I fear for shoulder articulation.

How well does the car integration work? It looks like half the cars fold into part of the forearm and something else attaches to it, but it seems like the cars fill out a skeleton for the feet.

Can you at least tell us if Motormaster's vehicle mode is a cabover/COE style truck (like G1) or a conventional (like movie Prime)?

(I refuse to use the incorrect "long-nose" etc terms---the real terms are cabover and conventional---only TF fans seem to have invented their own words)

Yeah. Looking at where the eyes are the proportions look off as his head looks buried compared to those high shoulders. I get he has those blocks next to his head it's the silhouette that is doing it no favours.

It was a quick glance on a long day so I don't recall all the details. I think MM was a cab over like G1 Prime. What I really recall is how impressive it looked as a whole (cab and trailer).

As mentioned in this thread. Releases start in November and will be spread out until May. They are aiming for $50 a car but I didn't get a price on Motormaster.

They did say Assaulter should be $90 and for that size and weight (he is heavy) that is a great price.

Very nice, I've been staying away from unofficial toys lately due to prices and the shear amount of stuff being churned out but this seems very reasonable and I do love car transformers.
