Need some help. My Swoop took a ill fated landing and the plastic holding his wing has broken in one spot and large crack in the other. I did my best to super glue but I don't think it will hold if I ever try reposition his wing.
I want try and swap the broken piece with the spare part from the extra set of silver painted wings he came with. But noticed the pin only has one end accessible. How to get the pin out?

Just in case somebody might need it in the future, here's how I fixed both hips on my copy:
1. Glue back the broken tube part with the strongest glue possible and pay attention to its angle as it must be perfectly straight (chances are if you have the same breakage issue, the cut won't be clean and the irregularities on both surfaces will help you find the right angle).
2. You'll need a small washer-like part. I made one using the flat part from a model kit sprue (the part with the letter to help identifying the sprue). I cut a small square then I sanded it to a round shape, made sure it was the same diameter as the tube then drilled a hole in it and made it thinner, like really thin, with more sanding.

3. Put the washer-like part right here:

4. The friction of that joint depends on how tight the back and front outer parts are screwed together (thus applying friction to the inner part connected to the thigh) but since you're working with a fragilized part, you won't be able to tighten these screws as much as before. You'll need to make up for that loss of friction by adding some somewhere else, you can do that by thickening the tube you just repaired. Be carefull not to add too much friction here because that might lead to the tube breaking again. I used a heat shrinking cable sleeve to achieve that and it worked quite well.

5. Put everything back together and you're set. To improve your chances of not having the hip joint breaking again, remember to move the hips (ESPECIALLY for forward/backward movements) by holding the joint securely from the back and front instead of simply moving it by holding the leg.
I don't remember how strong the outward joint was on this figure when I got it years ago but after fixing it I can pose it without stability issue as long as both feet are on the ground. It won't hold extreme aerial poses and maybe some less extreme without some balancing but again, I'm not even sure that was possible before. Anyway, it's better like this than broken.

I unboxed my 1st release blue Soar today to take pics because I decided to sell my FT Dinobots. To my surprise, both hips were SUPER loose and of course, both his hips were OK when I put it back in box it years ago. I opened them to see what was going on and sadly, both of them were broken. It's the same kind of breakage/issue MakeToys Meteor had where the tube that attach to the leg and gives friction to the joint is just a tiny bit too short so if the screw that goes inside is screwed even just a tiny bit too tight, it'll cause stress and breakage later. I searched through the thread but didn't find people talking about this but since it happened to both hips on mine, I highly doubt my copy is the only one with that issue. You may want to check yours.
I'm currently trying to glue it back then I'll try to find a way to make the tube a bit longer to fix the issue definitively. Red is where the breakage happen, green is where the tube should be made a bit longer.

Contact Fanstoys aftersale service for the parts. Send them photos of the damage and they will send out parts to you. Probably have to pay around $12 for the item to be shipped to you.

I had the same problem, but was never able to get a replacement part. I wish someone on shapeways made the shoulder connector pieces.

You're in the UK? I know fanstoys is a long wait I might have the spare parts so you can get it sorted sooner and send me the replacements when you get them?

Keep watching his eBay account, his plan could be to fix his and then sell it on. Would be terrible if the same thing happened to him…

I've been lurking this thread (was reading information about Swoop and stumbled across your "adventure") and wanted to say that I don't know you prior to this event, but have to say that I wish you luck after what happened to you. At least you were adult enough to admit that you might have been wrong, did the right thing, and even then you were screwed by the buyer and a company. With that, I wish you the best and hopefully your next buyer will be a pleasant one since you deserve it.

Not even going to bother I don't have enough proof to fight it… going to get the new parts fix it myself and then put it up for sale again being fully transparent with what I have had to do to the figure

Yeah seems abit inconsistent, but he could always arguee he didnt want to wait around for the part to come blar blar blar, which I'm sure ebay would lap up.
I know its a long shot, but now you have the goods back and with evidence of before and after, have you re-contacted ebay challenging what the buyer is stating and that they damaged it?
I know ebay will proberly spout some crap about getting crime number or something equal as daft. I really dislike scammers.

Thats proper bugging me !! would rather fuck someone over than contact fanstoys direct …. and when I told him I could get the parts from fanstoys with proof that I could he ignored me

Knew there’d be no broken pieces in the torso. Wounded for you mate.
Extra weird thing though is that you’ve gotten the parts on the way from FT, so quite why he couldn’t have just done the same for his bust one I don’t know.
RKillian
What an asshole. And fuck eBay for enabling it.
Callahan
Hope FT comes through for you with parts for you, this is why I hate selling high price ticket items on Ebay just feels very unsecure one dodgy buyer and you've had it. You should share this buyer’s user name to make sure others avoid him (not sure if that’s aloud on here but speaking in general I guess).

So need to contact ft for those parts too ffs

Got this back today opened the figure up and no bits inside the bot so this has been a parts swap not only the shoulder parts but looks like these are used parts , can’t really tell from the picture but the edges are worn looking , what looks like a reflection along the very edge is actually lightened plastic

In the end, you'll be able to replace the arms, when you get the guy back, it'll be a net loss of 10 bucks you pay to Fanstoys, and that sucks, but it could have been a lot worse I guess.
Screw ebay. That's why I only sell through Facebook.
