The third party group DX9 Toys has just revealed prototype images of their next project they intend on tackling: Masterpiece inspired Rodimus Prime!
The new images show off this third party figure as what appears to be a self contained Rodimus Prime, i.e. it does not transform to be both Hot Rod and Rodimus. For comparison’s sake, this figure was photographed next to the benchmark of the Masterpiece line, MP-10 Optimus Prime, and they are able to stand eye to eye looking great together! TFW2005 member unexpectedpanda was gracious enough to provide a digibash to show off what a possible color layout will look like. Finally the last image provided to us via TFW2005 sponsor Robot Kingdom, is of this third party Rodimus holding the Matrix of Leadership, which many of us will take note the hands seem to be an improvement over the less than popular MP-09 styled hands.

He actually scales really well with Saltus!

Unfolding the one foot has been an issue since at least the second release (non-metallic), and maybe since day one.
Just, slowly work at it. Push it a tiny fraction further every time. Don't try to just force it open all in one go that first time. Open and close, again and again. I don't think you can get it 100% perfect, but like 95% open is definitely doable, then it'll be ok to do it all at once for future transformations.
I'm trying to remember if I ever actually sanded/filed anything down, or just purely slowly went back and forth.

Carry showed up today and it is indeed the newer Metallic paint version! Woohoo!
He's great! Other than needing to break out the metal spudger for his right foot, no problems with the transformation.

I own both and prefer Carry, to be honest, because of the colors. I picked up Terror at the time because I couldn't find Carry at a decent price and like the person above me said it looks great.
It's a great MP evil Rodimus, but it'll probably go now that there is a Hasbro shattered glass one and I need the room back on my MP shelf.

Without regard to character the black version is more stunning in person between the two.

I picked up the metallic-ish version a few months ago at a great price too. I wish they had made a toon version as an option, but it's still a great figure. The only way I'll sell this off is if someone makes a toonish all-in-one Rodimus

I want this mold, but I can never decide whether to go with Terror or Carry.

My only complaint about the price is how much it's dropped in the last few months, its devalued those already bought
I wouldn't mind a cheap Terror though, so I can swap the hands
GigaPrime
Impossible to pass up at that price, even if it's the original version. Guess I'll report back in a few weeks!
This guy looks like the perfect blend of G1 MP and IDW. I like when the designs aren't slavish to either. I like G1 looks but IDW characters, for the most part.

ShowZ worked hard to get me a replacement, but DX9 sent only the middle part of the backpack-no wings at all just the middle piece.
If they had sent the full replacement I asked for I would have to just mess with one pin. As is I have to replace 3, maybe 4.
Super Mecha Dad
That's a nice price, even if I already have Terror.

It's true, not that it's very visible in the above picture, but my first Carry also has one slightly misfired pin. Fortunately, it's not as bad as the ones in your picture and hasn't affected transformation in all these years except for the plastic being slightly misaligned in vehicle mode.

You might want to ask them if they can check yours out before they send it.
Mine came with horribly bent pins in the backpack and it couldn't fold up all the way..
Pics should still be in this thread.

Metallic, is probably a bit strong a term to use, but it is a nice update from the original.
Show.Z has Carry back in stock, it doesnt call out which version this is, but I'd be surprised if it was anything other than the latest.

I haven't looked around since I got the replacement part from ShowZ for mine but maybe try AliExpress. Shot in the dark but who knows?

Damn… feel like I missed the boat on the metallic re-release. The original re-release is still around, but after seeing the comparisons, I think that slightly pinkish orange on the original is really what kept me from taking interest in this figure for all these years. As soon as I saw the more yellowish orange on the metallic version, I was like "whoa, look at that thing!"

Ha ha my sister and I shared an apartment before she moved out, and this was hers. I agree it's a decent shelf and the lighting is quite nice.
Now if only I could decide on how to light my transformers shelf…

Be sure to check your pins on the backpack. Mine came in like this:

OT, but OMG I have that exact same lamp/shelf! It's so incredibly useful and fits in an awkward space. Never saw any besides mine before.

He has arrived! Looks great so far. A little smaller than I expected but I don't care – it looks awesome.
I'm not going in on the entirety of movie characters, so he's going to occupy the little shelf in the entryway of my apartment.
