Dream Works Blast Cannon Accessory for Transformers Prime First Edition Bulkhead

2005 Boards member uranusdd has shared with us a look at a new third party accessory set. This set is from a group called Dream Works (no, not that Dreamworks) and it's an upgrade for First Edition Transformers Prime Bulkhead. Among the numerous features of the set are optional double arm cannons - as seen on the show - plus they can combine with other parts in the set to form an approximation of the Forge of Solus Prime. Very awesome and bought if and when this gets released. So this is for Hasbro's FE version. Wonder if one will be made and color-matched for the Takara FE version (which features a darker green finish).

Love how the cannon pieces can be put together with a long hilt to form the Forge of Solus. Very clever bit of engineering there.

Sometimes there's a third-party addon so great-looking it makes me want to get the original figure even if I'd never intended to. This is one of those times.

That's...so awesome.

But it'll probably cost much more than it's worth, unfortunately. The prices of 3rd party figures don't upset me nearly as much as the prices for 3rd party accessories...

I don't think they do.

If you look at the parts layout pic, you'll see that the crossbar that allows the cannons to be used as hammerheads has what looks like a 5mm hole in either end.

So the cannons probably plug directly into Bulkhead's wrists, the same way his wrecking ball does.

I don't watch Prime so I'm wondering, is it show accurate? Even if it isn't it still looks pretty cool. I especially like the hammer.

THe guns have detail inside them but the outer parts are close to accurate. The hammer is just a bonus you get with it since he used the forge thing in the show, but the blasters are the selling point.

The cannons look pretty accurate to my eyes. The Forge of Solus, probably not 100% accurate (it wasn't green in color, at least, but rather golden yellow, I believe) but the fact that it's made from the cannons combined with a long hilt is just very clever engineering and wins points with me for creativity/originality alone.

Do you need an FE? The FE version is now readily available at ToysRUS in the US. I'm sure someone here on the board can help you get one.

The set does become the forge... Although, not golden.. Isn't there already a shapeways version of the hammer?

The set, minus the bumper and possibly connecting points in Vehicle mode, should work on an RID Bulkhead just fine.

Not like you need a bumper to reinforce his car ass... (Quite frankly amazed there aren't more butt jokes tbh...)

Anyway... this is a rather interesting set... it's servicable as his show Guns AND as the Forge of Solus Prime... really cool.

I REALLY hope they attempt a color match to the Takara version. If not I'll do the best i can with spray paint.
