Awesome, I knew these would follow the guns...Now to find a set.

More useful than the guns for my FE Prime since I don't like the floppy ass sword much.

As someone who just purchased the TF: Prime faceplateless Wheeljack head set from Dr. Wu, I recommend that you pass on this latest offering from the Wu. The only thing good about the Wheeljack set is the basic head itself and even that had atrocious paint apps and had to be touched up. For a really basic offering this set should have shined bright, but instead the bomb attachment broke almost immediately, the face required touch-ups, and overall the set sucks.

I can't speak for this Optimus Prime blade set specifically, but if it's anything like the Wheeljack set, I'd give it a pass.

maybe we need someone like maiden japan to make custom parts like these better.

I really REALLY want both the guns and the blades, but they're pretty pricey. You're taking a $20 figure and adding $60 of weapons, which really doesn't seem right for a figure that requires a LOT of touch up and work to make him get to the point that he needs to be to match First Edition.

As much as I want to really back Dr Wu, and I don't think it's fair to slam the work, unless you have it in hand, but the price should completely justify the quality. Particularly since 20 bucks more/less gets you the First Edition on Ebay shipped.

Dr Wu is really a Doctor in China. The Guy from Robotkingdom said so when I was at botcon. He makes this parts because he is a fan not trying to make more money. I thought that was cool as hell. Keeping coming Dr. Wu.

I have a first edition prime so I won't be wasting the cash on this his gun and blade are perfect to me

Price depends on how many units are made, not to mention how they are made. Dr. Wu seems to be a smaller company, so it wouldn't have the production numbers of a Fansproject piece or use the same factories probably. If he's just a fan then I wouldn't see why he'd try to have high production numbers and such, especially since the products aren't as popular as most 3rd party stuff.

I hope Dr. Wu makes Starscream's scooter.

I wasn't trying to question his fondness for Transformers, merely the price points some of his products have been set at. I'm sure your right though. I won't pretend to know what kind of costs a business like his might endure to supply 3rd party products.

You know what pisses me off???? I remember a time (BEAST WARS) where HAsbro actually made show accurate weapons I cant believe we THE FANS have to MAKE the weapons off our OWN expense. How do you show the weapon on tv in action then release something else entirely with a stupid gimmick. if it was back then i bet you somehow Optimus's swords wouldve somehow come out of his arm. it seems like were going backwards. Well, to be fair , Hasbro does pack the show accurate weapons to a certain degree. Dr Wu just makes the show accurate weapons ALOT BETTER.

Except both sides are sharp, so neither is wrong. Just because they're inverted from the movie design doesn't make them not perfectly acceptable blades.

There's a difference between not trying to make a profit, and losing money. These things still cost a lot to produce because of their limited numbers.

Rhinox didn't have show-accurate guns.

And look at the deluxes. They all have accurate weapons. And technically the FE's all still had accurate guns and whatnot.

Are you talking about FE Prime? If you are I want to know the store that sells them for that cheap I had to pay over $140 to get both FE Prime and FE Bulkhead shipped to Australia off eBay!

I was eyeing Fakebusker83's shapeways FE Prime swords and smokestack set. They are around $18.

Not saying you're wrong, but things in China almost always cost much less there than they do in the US or elsewhere for that matter.

Wouldn't Dr. Wu's price point be extremely high for the Chinese market? I can't imagine many Chinese Transformers fans picking up these additions at those prices. How could one with an average monthly income of $200 a month?

Now, I know there are those with a much higher salary, but still that asking price should seem a bit too steep even for China.

My two cannons arrived on Saturday and I'm extremely impressed with the quality. The paint apps are great. The blue is especially cool, with an almost translucent look to it. Will definitely be picking up two of these. Keep on rockin' Dr. Wu!
