I think it’s safe to say that BadCube wants the fandom to look upon their War Dog “Warpath” as a figure that could quite possibly fit in with your Masterpiece collection. After posting comparison pics of both bot and alt modes with virtually every single Masterpiece Phase 2 Autobot, from Optimus Prime through Ultra Magnus, it’s clear that War Dog does in-fact scale properly and that he has some hugely impressive mass shifting involved in his transformation.
Click through to see all of the comparison pics for yourself and then to judge and discuss this figure’s worthiness to join your Masterpiece collection.

The hips and knees are rather weak ratchets….
crazee928
use future, iirc all his joints are ball joints, so that should be an easy fix.
yea the little shoulder bits are the most annoying thing about this figure, i like complex transformations but that step ruined the whole experience for me
Kain124
Love mine, but I am probably going to get the Fans Toys version for bot mode and keep this guy in tank mode.

Sometimes I wish I’d nabbed one of these; other times I’m glad I passed.
He does seem like a nice display piece.
Honesty
Still have this guy. No box. But all accessories & instruction manual. Also don’t feel like returning him to alt mode. However all joints are nice and tight and minty fresh still. Hit me up if any of y’all is interested.
Tazman66gt
both of the shoulder pieces that attach to the metal rod slider broke on mine. disappointing but the shoulders still clip in for both modes so not too worried. might get the FT if they ever reissue is.
Hyoumaru
I'm afraid the screw-points in the shoulders of mine aren't going to survive another transformation really.
mx-01 archon
I don't find transforming him to be much of a bother at all, with the exception of his weird tiny shoulder joints that you never have full access to to manipulate directly.
Hyoumaru
Wardog feels like a successful G1 update without going full Classics/Universe, and the charm of his aggressive beefy proportions just suit him so well, arguably much better than his original G1 design which at worst could be considered generic looking aside from the chest cannon.
Such a shame transforming him is such a chore, he's really a great figure otherwise.
rendsora
I almost listed him for sale. Listed him for a year oddly no takers then I decided to keep him. I dunno..there's something special about it.
A memory for Badcube. One of the more interesting companies that have came from the 3P TF boom but sadly is now no more..
Scowly Prowl
This figure is unfortunately prone to soft/sliding joints pretty much out of the box. A number of his important upper joints (shoulders, for example) are essentially friction joints that loosen up with more movement. One particular sliding section on mine tends to move if you just look at it, it seems. It takes a bit of balancing and loading, but I can get some neat poses, just not the overly heroic.
That said, I really like him as my MP Warpath. FT is more toon accurate, but the proportions are all wrong, IMO, and unfortunately, my copy also suffers from soft/sliding joints, too.
mx-01 archon
The ratchets on him were never really the loud, clicky type.
rendsora
Oh you're not the only one. He's already like that due to his unwieldy joints
ComradeKatya
Finally got one of these (was actually still sealed too!) and was very excited, unfortunately I think I got really unlucky with mine, as all the joints feel very loose and floppy, it makes him very difficult to pose. Even the ratchets are not very tight, was quite upsetting sadly.

Repair bay: Paint
So I’m not a fan of the dull gray sliver/swirl plastic on this guy. So I’m testing painting over it w/some metallic sliver to give the treads a more “metal look”.
So far I’m liking the results. The picture doesn’t really do justice (not great lighting either). But the contact is night and day.
I’ll post a full image once I finish

Yeah, the split should reduce the friction there to virtually nil, so as long as the pieces don't come off on the regular, then there should be no actual problem.
Darthmarto
ok cool thanks
its actually never been a problem, he still handles like a champ. In some cases it makes it easier. I just never knew if i did it. Could have even been whom i bought it from (got it second hand)
At any rate, thanks heaps
mx-01 archon
Yeah, it's not meant to be split like that.
Not sure how well the toy handles with those breaks. The grey parts just need to be able to slide along the bar. If they can still do that without popping off repeatedly, then it's probably not a huge problem. If they fall off really easily, though, it could be annoying.
Darthmarto
Hey can anyone help me out here? I cant work out if these parts are broken or if theyre meant to be this way. I assumed i broke them, but the gaps are in the exact same spot each side. These are the small parts that connect to the thin bar that connects his arms. You can see where it grabs onto the bars on each side there's a gap. Not sure its meant to be there or not.
