Ambitious! Hopefully this is better-timed than the Reflector releases that are flying at us.

Don't feel a need for an unofficial product with Cybertronian Soundwave around, but I'll certainly follow this project with interest. If by some miracle they offer a high-quality figure for a bargain price (not ragging on them, it's just that this is REALLY HARD) I'll take another look.

I'm hoping the final product is sharper than that grey prototype shows, though. That's kinda rough and hand-sculpted looking.

Hmm... depending on the price, I may go with Soundwave here instead of TFClub's Devy, since as the Constructicons are being released individually, there's a small chance they might not all get released and I'll end up with a Devastator that looks like Cotton from King of the Hill.

Looks pretty cool. Not sure it will replace ML Soundwave for my Classics stuff though (A figure I don't actually have yet).

Wait what? BTS is doing a Reflector too? I know that both PerfectEffect and TFClub are doing them... I had no idea there was a 3rd version in the works.

He didn't say anything about BTS doing a Reflector. He's just commenting that he's hoping there isn't the same conflict of timing with this guy as there is with Reflector, what with Hasbro doing theirs, PE theirs, and TFClub theirs.

We'll see what happens. PE had a Soundwave-looking concept in the works, too. All we've seen of that is a silhouetted teaser, though.

I've been waiting for something that was an equivelant of an MP Soundwave, but if it looks like that, I might have to consider getting this

Isn't this design by Guido owned by him, or did he do it for a Hasbro related product?

Just to add, it's not as if Hasbro is somehow oblivious to the demand for Soundwave. Anyone who doesn't think he's due for some kind of release as long as such a significant portion of the longtime fans clamor for nostalgia product is kidding themselves.

He's one of about three plausible candidates for the next G1-style Masterpiece and he's more likely to get two Generations figures than many characters are to get one.

It's a shame to say this is the first time I have seen this design by Guido..... That being said this has really perked my interest and once I see some more refined pictures, I could see myself getting this.

VERY interested in how this pans out. Since Has/Tak seems unable to make a decent updated Soundwave I'm all for giving my money to a 3rd party company that can.

Since I started collecting in mid-2009, there have been three new-mold Soundwave figures in the Deluxe class. There was even one in Generations, the "wish list" line. (The Generations Soundwave is essentially disqualified by many fans on a couple of technicalities: he turns into something that rolls and he may "officially" be part of the Prime franchise, despite the fact that he's an absolutely doting homage to the G1 robot design. I assure you that Hasbro has noticed that they could get us to buy an even more faithful figure.)One of them was repainted...into Soundwave. There was also a Soundwave in the Cybertron franchise that pretty much looks like the G1 character if he'd scanned an F-117 instead of a tiny plastic box.

Oh, and he got a high-profile Comic-Con reissue, plus the older TRU one.

Oh, and his minions are showing up as new figures. Rumble, probably Frenzy, possibly Ratbat. And this after Ravage got about six different versions in the RotF line.

Meanwhile, Soundwave was the clear favorite for the Hall of Fame on the list Hasbro supplied, beaten only by a dark horse who symbolically represented one of the finest pieces of television in Transformers history. (He'll win next year.)

He's also one of the stars of Transformers: Prime, and he's in two out of three live-action films.

I guess I'm trying to say, the writing is on the wall. I don't understand how you can come to the conclusion that Soundwave is getting snubbed or something when it is apparent on the surface that Hasbro does NOT design updated G1 characters by going down the 1984 toy list one-by-one until it's finished, then moving on to 1985, etc. When they run out of heavy hitters to put into Classics X.0, either they'll start repeating themselves (more) or it will die off.

Interest immediately dropped when I saw the useless alt mode. Same deal with Reflector. That's just my personal taste though.

Oh wow. If they can make it come out like the art and the quality is good then I'll goahead and buy two. Generations Soundwave is cool but he just does't do it for me. Maybe its the size.

That was uncalled for: Hasbro has only just released one of the most awesome Soundwave figures in the Generations line. And it really pisses me off how so many people are so dismissive of it because of so many ludicrous reasons like "its not a tape deck" or "its not G1 enough" or "its Prime Soundwave" or "its only a deluxe". NOTE: I'm generalizing, I'm not saying that you specifically are saying this, G_13.
