Ark Studio have announced their next third party Transformers project – an add-on for the Age of Extinction Leader Optimus Prime. The set is made up of a sword based on the on-screen look of the one wielded by Optimus Prime in Age of Extinction, and a shield which is designed to transform from the Movie Preview figure’s version of the shield to the Generations one via some unfolding panels.
Some images of a prototype have been made available on the group’s Weibo, check them out after the break.

I think these will cost around $1000 already knowing how they priced their not-smokescreen (legends size).

Any news on this? Do we have an expected date of release? Cuz I'm pretty interesting in these.

Shield looks way too big. But otherwise it's actually pretty cool.

Wow, this is so pointless. I can't wait until TakaraTomy's new version of Leader Prime comes out and makes this further redundant. I don't mind upgrade kits but…. ugh, seriously. It's not even an accurate shield.
Seriously? How do you EVER expect them to make an AoE Optimus that actually looks like he does on-screen AND transforms? If you parts-form the hell out of it, maybe, but otherwise, it's not happening any time soon. The Generations figures aren't even the simple ones, anyway, so I don't know what you're going on about. They have two different lines – all the gimmicky, quick-transforming stuff for the children, and Generations for the collectors. I'd say "adults", but since it seems next to no collectors act like adults these days, never mind.

The larger one is called the "First Edition" Leader Optimus. It came out online a fair bit before the film itself. The other is the standard mainline leader toy, which most would say is the better of the two, even if he's still flawed and smaller.
No idea if the BC OP will work with it. As that toy's not even out yet, they probably have not been able to work in compatibility. Then again, he may just have the proper pegholes and such for it to work anyway. All the same, that BC OP is a smaller toy than these two, the weapons would probably look way oversized.

Hopefully it's like the toylines between movie 1 and 2 for AoE and movie 5.
Hasbro : "Okay, we got the simple figures for the little kids now let's make the adults happy" and then they release show accurate transforming AoE Knight Optimus

Unfortunately it's for the worst leader sized toys we've gotten in the last 8 years in my opinion.

look it's not too shabby but how many faces can he take per battle time line factorning in the appearance of these half ass man made pussy formers, the qustion we all want to know is how many faces can he take in an a lotted time with this cool new gear:
Raiju
Agreed. This looks like a decent effort, but the rounded shield parts should be able to be flipped perpendicular to the barrels to form a blast shield similar to the motorcycle gun weapon that came with HA Jazz.
deathzero23
The sword and shield reminded me of Gundams
Shmoptimus Prime
Looks great but they're both waaaaay too big, even when FE Prime is using them. A 20% decrease in size would do them a LOT of good. Plus the shield is a bit too flat IMO.
Overall though it looks like a cool set, and it's great that the sword and shield can store together, as he did that in the movie.
Requiem Prime
nice, I want this irregardless of having Prime.

LA Battle Command is a Voyager scaled figure.
Raiyuki
Not bad actually

The sword looks too big. Was it this big in the movie too? I don't remember.
