Bold Forms Wildfire / Breakdown

Posted on 08-30-2014 at 09:00 AM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
10599412_749462405095020_6885749691326869720_n Third party group Bold Forms have recently updated their Facebook page with a look at their second unofficial third party Stunticon. The second release in their Stunticons will be named Wildfire, and will be a homage to Generation 1 Breakdown. As with their Motormaster, Lone Wolf, this offering is very much like a reimagined version of the Generation 1 toy with modern standards of articulation worked in. Check out the rendered image attached to this post.

Perfect Effect Warden Extra Weapons Edition

Posted on 08-23-2014 at 09:16 AM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
1493467_689135304498806_8579767348668951247_o Perfect Effect have revealed a new version / accessory pack for their popular unofficial Fortress Maximus, Warden, may be in the works. They've posted up photos on their Facebook page showing a version of Warden with some extra accessories including a new gun and boots to make Warden a bit taller and more Fortress Maximus proportioned.

At this time, we're not clear on if this is an accessory set, a new version of the figure with the new accessories, or if both options will happen. It's been pointed out that in order to work some of the new leg parts the original figure's knees need to be replaced - so it's possible this is a new full figure release.

Unmade Cassy Sark Concepts - Unofficial Lugnut, Depth Charge, Skyquake, And More

Posted on 08-22-2014 at 12:38 PM by Mechafire under 3rd Party Unlicensed
lugnut03 Here's some bittersweet news for you all - TFW has been keeping an eye on this and wanted to post all available information for all to see.

3rd party freelancer and MMC designer Cassy Sark has been posting a smattering of (glorious) Cybertronian figure concepts up on his Facebook, which were apparently intended to be Ultra class-sized. These are:

Zealot (Lugnut)
Triton (Depth Charge)
Turbulance (Skyquake)

In addition, while we don't have images of what they would have looked like, these are more retools which were evidently going to be made:

Straxus
IDW Jhiaxus

Alas, these projects were planned, but never came to be, with no company wanting to produce them. However, there are rumors about that these images are being released to gauge interest in them, and potentially be picked up by any willing 3rd party company.

So, would you like to see these be made? Check out the images and sound off after the jump!

6f1312acgw1ejk09l29lxj20m80vndmc In what has become typical fashion of the independent company FansProject, we were treated to what looks like a finished pair of figures after seeing few updates throughout the past few months. This time around we have new colored images from Mr. Elljay on Weibo of FansProject homages to Sixknight and Quickswitch. These two characters are from the latter portions of Generation 1, Sixknight being a part of Super-God Masterforce cartoon while Quickswitch had appearances in both the Marvel UK comics and season 5 of the original Generation 1 cartoon. No preorder information has been shared as of yet.

Did FansProject surprise you with these? Let us know in the discussion link below!

From these images we can see the Megatron has a Generation 1 style robot mode with a tank alternate mode - much like the upcoming Hasbro Leader class toy - while the Motormaster seems to be a Masterpiece scaled version of the Generation 1 toy with some extra details included.

Discuss the Lone Wolf / Motormaster images here, and the Gladius / Megatron images here.

Topeam Third Party SD Transformable Jazz

Posted on 08-18-2014 at 02:59 PM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
69a367e0jw1ejgmvr737cj20jg0cz76k While there is no denying that super-deformed Transformers - that's Transformers with heads much larger than their bodies - is a niche area of collecting, it is one that is getting steadily filled out both officially by Takara-Tomy and their Q Transformers, and unofficially with unlicensed third party releases.

The latest addition to the third party side of the equation is Topeam, who are making an SD and fully transformable Jazz figure. And yes - we are informed that disproportionately huge noggin does not need to be removed as a part of the transformation. Check out some images - coming at you via the TFClub Weibo feed - after the break.

This unofficial take on the Technobot Afterburner is big - very big! He's got a fairly Generation 1 look going on too along with his big and chunky design. Check out these latest images which also show the toy in its initial molded plastic colors after the break.

For those thinking "which third party Computron should I get?", TFW2005 member Cheem the Rup has also put together a few side-by-side pictures of the Warbotron and Maketoys Afterburners, allowing you to compare each group's take on the character.

Headrobots Green King Botcon Scorponok Accessory Set

Posted on 08-13-2014 at 03:47 PM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
14918_532944856805022_5103690536162209665_n The long-dormant third party group Headrobots return with a new customization set for the Botcon 2014 Scorponok. The ultimate goal of their Green King is to make a full-on Classics Scorponok out of the Energon mold, with this first kit - newly listed on sponsors Big Bad Toy Store - providing new claws and a neck connector port. Other kits will (presumably) follow to add other details shown in the photos attached to this story. But with full ground-up third party efforts from Maketoys and Perfect Effect on the horizon, is a "mere" customization kit enough any more? Share your thoughts after the break.
