Posted on 03-26-2015 at 03:15 PM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
PWTT-Des-8 Play With This Too have shared images of their action figure styled take on Generation 1 Skullgrin, Desolataur, with merely three days left on their Kickstarter program. These images show a 3D printed version of Desolataur, so it's not the final product which will be smoother, but gives an impression of what the final release might be like. There are a lot of images of the prototype, which you can check out on the group's Facebook page - we've attached a few of the best and most insightful here.

Play With This Too is a new third party group, made up of former Hasbro staff and other toy industry veterans including Rik Alvarez and Aaron Archer. Find out more about the Kickstarter campaign here.

Fansproject Lost-Exo Realm Volar Delayed, Optional Blue Torso Included

Posted on 03-23-2015 at 01:08 AM by ORIO under 3rd Party Unlicensed
LER031 Fansproject has updated their Facebook page regarding the next release in their Lost Exo Realm series, Volar aka Swoop! For the last few months, it would appear that the retail version would be coming with a red colored G1 toy accurate torso while a G1 cartoon accurate, blue chest would possibly come separately as a convention exclusive as they did with Columpio and Cubrar. The good news is that Fansproject has listened to the feedback and have decided to include an optional blue torso in with the retail release, so fans can choose to display Volar with their own personal preference. The bad news however, is that including this optional torso has delayed the figure until mid-April.

STAFF EDIT: For even more impressive customer service, FansProject announced that Volar will also include replacement hips for your Columpio figure to address the complaint of loose hips.

Keep checking back for more updates, and join in the discussion in the third party forum.

IFTW1 Courtesy of the Weibo page of Toyszone, we have a look at a potential upcoming limited edition release of Iron Factory's Sonic-Tech Figure. This possible exclusive is a repaint of their recently released, Legends-scaled Blaster figure, except in Twincast colors. The design of this figure pulls it's influence from IDW's Spotlight Blaster comic. No, mention where or if this set will be exclusive or just how limited it may be, but keep checking back for more updates.

In the meantime, follow along with this announcement in the ongoing discussion thread in our 3rd Party Discussion forum.

FansProject Sixknight and G1 Colors Chromedome

Posted on 03-22-2015 at 11:58 AM by Sol Fury under 3rd Party Unlicensed
11043396_623035001129340_2834850570768346924_o Via Mr Elljay on Weibo we have a look at two more upcoming unofficial transforming robots from FansProject. First up is a redeco of their MADLAW to resemble the Masterforce character Sixknight - a logical reuse of the mold and given the rarity and price of the original, one that is sure to please fans.

The second is a reissue of their unofficial Headmaster Chromedome, Code, in colors more closely inspired by the Generation 1 Chromedome.

For both releases not a lot is known beyond "these are probably happening". It's possible they may be some kind of online exclusives - all will be revealed in time.

Play With This Too Kickstarter Update: Not Swoop and More

Posted on 03-13-2015 at 10:14 AM by Tony_Bacala under 3rd Party Unlicensed
not-swoop Play With This Too's Kickstarter for their Lost Protectors line has reached the half way point today, and they've already hit 71% of their funding (as of this post). There have been a couple updates in the past week+, plus they've released another update today - a not-yet-named G1 Swoop inspired figure. Here is a round up:
  • Last night we opened up Catastropheles up for individual purchase at the $55 level.
  • D-Fuzz and R-Mix are available to be added to your pledge for $20 US/INTERNATIONAL
  • ALL NEW BMOG figures have been added - everyone who pledges at the $55 and above level will receive a new BMOG figure of the purple chainsaw platypus Monoscream for free! Monoscream splits apart into 3 weapons.
  • An Atomic Glow-In-The-Dark version of his new BMOG is also available to be added for $12 US/INTERNATIONAL.

In addition to this, make sure to check out their reveal from last week, Wastelander, another familiar warrior.

Of special note to us here at TFW2005 - That D-Fuzz and R-Mix are available now, you don't have to wait till funding to unlock it. So anyone who's made a qualifying pledge can add on to your total and choose this at checkout.

Read on to check out pics of Not-Swoop, hit their Kickstarter to see all the toys available and pledge, and discuss this whole adventure in the forums here.

Colored Test Shot of BadCube War Dog (MP Warpath)

Posted on 03-10-2015 at 10:10 AM by Sentinel under 3rd Party Unlicensed
image I think it's safe to say that BadCube wants the fandom to look upon their War Dog "Warpath" as a figure that could quite possibly fit in with your Masterpiece collection. After posting comparison pics of both bot and alt modes with virtually every single Masterpiece Phase 2 Autobot, from Optimus Prime through Ultra Magnus, it's clear that War Dog does in-fact scale properly and that he has some hugely impressive mass shifting involved in his transformation.

Click through to see all of the comparison pics for yourself and then to judge and discuss this figure's worthiness to join your Masterpiece collection.

DX9 Toys Reveals Masterpiece Inspired Rodimus Prime

Posted on 03-10-2015 at 08:28 AM by Matty under 3rd Party Unlicensed
27503102d1425967871-dx9-toys-hot-rodd006-dx9 The third party group DX9 Toys has just revealed prototype images of their next project they intend on tackling: Masterpiece inspired Rodimus Prime!

The new images show off this third party figure as what appears to be a self contained Rodimus Prime, i.e. it does not transform to be both Hot Rod and Rodimus. For comparison's sake, this figure was photographed next to the benchmark of the Masterpiece line, MP-10 Optimus Prime, and they are able to stand eye to eye looking great together! TFW2005 member unexpectedpanda was gracious enough to provide a digibash to show off what a possible color layout will look like. Finally the last image provided to us via TFW2005 sponsor Robot Kingdom, is of this third party Rodimus holding the Matrix of Leadership, which many of us will take note the hands seem to be an improvement over the less than popular MP-09 styled hands.

What do you think of the reveal? Hit the discussion link below to share some thoughts.
