Movie Fox
1:24 Scale Movie Style 1993 Mustang Autobot Fox by timshinn73
Here's a 1:24 scale Autobot I created using a 1993 Ford Mustang model kit and a Bionacle and Neo Shifter skeleton. Most of the skeleton is made from Bionacle parts. The forearms and hands are from a Neo Shifter toy. The forearms needed to be modified so they would connect to the Bionacle upper arms. Most of the black parts on the finished pics are the underside and frame of the Mustang kit. The lighter gray areas are the car's interior and the red parts are the shell of the car. The shell alone was carefully cut into over 50 pieces before being cleaned up, painted and applied to the figure. The head was created using a Bionacle head for a base, parts from the Mustang kit's engine and interior as well as cut and shaped styrene parts (mainly the nose and mouth). Althought this Autobot isn't based on any existing character, I did use movie Prime & Ironhide as reference while working on the head. It does not transformer but it does have over 20 points of articulation. He stands about 10 inches tall. That would make him nearly 20 feet tall in the real world. Pretty close to the size of movie Bumblebee. I wanted this to be more of a movie maquette than a standard toy. I liked the idea of trying to create an accurate representation of a Transformer based on the movie aesthetic. While it is very posable, it's really not for playing. More of a display piece. This was created for my brother as a gift. He owns a '93 Mustang and wanted me to build him a movie style Mustang Autobot. He owns the standard fox body version of the car. The kit I used was a Cobra, very similar overall to his actual car, with some slight differences in the shape of the back window. Since this Autobot is based on a fox body Mustang, I guess we'll call him Fox. Thanks for taking a look! ...............................................................................................................
