I made this repaint for a friend. Eventually I'll be doing a Thundercracker in the same vein for him. This is a Galaxy Force Starscream. I dyed ALL the blue parts black, so that there's no worry about paint-wear in any of the joints. I wanted his paint scheme to not just simply look like Skywarp, but I wanted it to actually have form AND function. I wanted the overall design to flow together well. The end result really works in my opinion, all the stripes originate at the very front point of the jet, and yet at the same time all of his paint applications are nearly spot-on to the original Skywarp's too.
I used Krylon Fusion Semi-gloss Black, Testors Silver Chrome Trim, and for the purple I had to go an unorthodox route. I couldn't find a good shade of purple paint out there. I found several that were pretty, but wouldnt have contrasted against the base color of black nearly well enough. I finally scored by using a Roseart Colorsharp Metallic paint marker. I simply would dab the brush against the tip and then I could paint the purple onto the pieces. Sure, I could've used the marker straight, but then you'd not be able to reach some recessed or narrow-clearance molded areas. I think I came up with a winner here, and I had a hard time letting the finished piece go. hehehe
