"[This is] the Megatron-Ratchet Fusion from the G1 Marvel comics. It does not transform.

It was made from Classics Megatron and Energon Tow-Line. The body is primarily Megatron's with half of the front of the chest removed and Tow-Line's attached. I lucked out and it fit very nicely, even the van door. The surgery on Megatron was covered up with red plastic (see the Ratchet's chest window) and Milliput closes the gaps between the parts. The extra leg was attached with a pin. The joint for the extra arm was removed from Tow-Line and glued to Megatron's arm. Tow-Line's foot replaces Megatron's for the Ratchet leg so both of Ratchet's feet match. The pelvis chrome piece from a G1 Ratchet was glued to the Ratchet waist. The heads were carefully sawed in half with a Dremel (still have all of my fingers!). Tow-line's head was resculpted to match Ratchet and a spare part was glued on to his forehead. The gun barrel is from a dollar store cap gun (thought the cops were going to arrest me when I bought it and nothing else from the store). Junk cables were attached to the chest to simulated robot guts. I drilled tiny holes and glued the end of the cables in the hole. Megatron's shoulder and Ratchet's thigh were puttied and sanded smooth to contrast the two figures. One of Tow-Line's tires was attached to Ratchet's ankle to complete the effect.

The figures were disassembled, cleaned, and lightly sanded prior to painting. Disassembling Megatron's shoulder is not easy. Basically had to saw the barbed pins out and fix it with Milliput later. The paint was applied with an airbrush and lots of careful masking. The red on Megatron is metallic, in contrast to the bright red on Ratchet. The orange cap was painted black.

I've thought of going back to add more detail or weathering, but am too afraid to screw it up. White is unforgiving!
