Legend has it that his spark was extinguished by Primus himself. No, only his form was destroyed. One of the first 13 beings created by Primus, his life force could not be snuffed out so easily. His spark had been wandering, floating about the myriad universes that existed between our world and Cybertron.

Again, his master, Unicron, had given him another body, to make way for his return. His role was simple: destroy them all. Autobot or Decepticon, it did not matter. All of them would fall.
