In late '03 I think, a Japanese kitbasher made a Final Battle statue using this mold, custom hands and pieces, and he left the blue pieces unpainted; I liked the look. So early '04 I think, I decided to make mine from an extra Bendy Prime. Basically masked the cab to left the red detail unpainted and simply sprayed the blue paint. I'm glad it had nice results.

Now just like the bigger version, I had to make minor details, like the silver stacks and waist covers. In the case of the face, I never really liked the red faceplate, so I decided to make it show accurate.

Finally, the reason why I called his Mini-con Tecate Overrun. Well, the larger version had "Corona Sparkplug," and thanks to some jokes by Elvin Pena about the Corona beer, I though it would be funny to call this Mini-con by another Mexican beer, Tecate!
