From REDLINE:
REDLINE is a re-shelled Alternators Meister. He is now a scale 2005 Pontiac GTO Judge. This character was created as a board persona, and actually has really all of his traits based off of myself (REDLINE). The actual kitbash here was created by board member lobo. After attaching all the car parts, he then scratch-built the lightsaber and the quad-rifle, added the arm blasters, and came up with the ingenious method of hiding or revealing the large yellow "sails" behind REDLINE's head.
Even while Ravage was basking in the glow of his "victory" over the Autobots, leaving them to face Unicron alone after sealing away Megatron and his main force of Decepticons for future release, an unexpected gift was handed to the Autobots. Somehow in Ravage's temporal tampering, two Autobots were suddenly warped to Earth where the alternate Autobots dwelt. The sudden, uncontrolled time warp travel had nearly killed them however; their sparks were extremely faint. The Autobots were none other than Hot Rod and Springer. The recovery project was ambushed by Shockwave, however and the bodies fell into Decepticon hands. Shockwave experimented with a radical and new procedure that he'd devised to aid the Decepticon cause to "fuse" the two weak Autobot sparks to create one healthy one.
At the same time that he was doing such, he sent Deadend and Ravage to General Motors Corp., where they were nearly finished with their next transforming body, an enhanced 2005 GTO Judge. All that was missing was the paintjob. Wonderful news! They attacked the EDC and forced them to make some minor specification changes after viewing the nearly completed GTO, then rushed home to begin emergency preparations for Shockwave's radical idea to save Hot Rod and Springer.
A success, the new "Autobot" looked just like a Binaltech upgrade of Hotrod, to further humiliate the Autobots whenever they would meet in battle! The combining of the sparks had been a success, and as a result of the combining of the two Sparks, coupled with the trauma of near-death, altered the two original personalities into a wholly new one. This new 'bot was a joker and prankster, aloof, hot tempered, and a major force in battle. It was also found that he worked really well under pressure; in fact, he seemed to be a completely different personality in high-pressure situations; clear-headed, calm, methodical, brave, and deadly. Between this new personality, and the fact that he was pretty much a wholly new 'bot and also now a Decepticon, he was given a new name: REDLINE!
