Phantom BT
From superquad7:
“A familiar project of mine had been slowly making it's way back up to the surface. Before I can move on, a little backstory of this custom (with props to another kitbasher) is in order: When I was researching my Alternators Seekers project, I came across not only what I wanted to do for the Seekers everyone saw G1 toys of, but also some of the guys that never got a mass released toy made (mostly because they were miscolors and such). I really liked Zobovor's work (which can be found at his site, Zobovor's Multi-Faceted Transformers Site!). While I'm not trying to 100% replicate everything he's done, I do have to credit my inspiriation, and ultimately my new project's namesake. Even with this guy, despite only being in FFoD part 3, I did try to pay a decent respect and homage to him (as well as zobovor's custom), but [as with my other 7 Seekers] I did want to take a new spin (something old; something new). I did get my screencaps from the Rhino DVD set of ‘G1 Phantom’, which provided me with the G1 source of inspiration. Also, I really liked the aspect that the background Seekers that were miscolored were generic in a way and this guy's sponsor decals are a bit generic also . . . The head, forearms, and legs are all from an Alt Ricochet. I removed all of Ricochet's gold faceplate paint as well as painting the eyes red. I'm not sure if many have noticed on my other Seekers, but I always paint the vents on the side with a secondary color; in this case, it was black. The forearms and legs I only swapped out, but the head receieved the usual "Seeker mod" that I gave the others . . . and of course his own arm cannons ( made from a few soap dispensers, some twist ties from TFs, some hanging nails, and my emptied mechanical pencils from school!).” ............................................................................................................... |
