My friend who's a big Japanese car buff says this particular Skyline is the uber-tricked out by Nissan, only a handful in existance, Ferrari-killer variant. I just think it's a badass looking car that really said Megatron to me. And thanks to him and another buddy for the idea.
The base is Prowl (obviously), and the Skyline had nearly the exact same dimensions, with the added bonus of being just wider enough to slide right over most of Prowl.
I opted out of having the hood open, and the doors only slightly open for transformation(and also take the running boards with them), cos well...those are minor details that I don't mind losing.
The head is from the old G2 Hero Megs, with some extra styrene to build it up a bit. Also, you can see I've changed the way the doors transform.
There are a few minor imperfections, some parts don't line up as perfectly as I'd like(ie the doors, but really, I'm ok with it), and somewhere along the lines, I got a little black smudge on the driver side rear that I didn't want to have to repaint the whole
piece to achieve a good color match. Plus a little piece of the metal Nissan logo had broken off and got lost(Waaah!).
However, I'm totally, 120% pleased with it! The re-shell process(my first successful one) went totally smooth thanks to Prowls simple transformation, and he's pretty much as strong and sturdy as the original figure.
Colors are the official Skyline colors, the main being Tamiya's gloss aluminum. I did make one minor mod tho, the seats are supposed to only have a red stripe in the center, but I like the all red. Also the windows are tinted using Tamiya's Smoke spraypaint.
Those familiar with the Skyline will notice that Megatron does sit higher than the car should. That was a side effect of the reshell process, but I like it, makes the car look more aggresive.
