Crafted out of a 1/20th scale Toyota Sports van kit and various Transformer and Gundam parts, this Ironhide is one of a series of prototypes. I'm attempting to create MP versions of Ironhide and Ratchet based on the 1984 Hasbro toy Van Modes while losing the ridiculous toy bot modes. For bot modes, I'm going for as cartoon accurate as possible while still maintaining complete transformations (no detaching parts) and structural integrity. I have a single (and VERY hard to find) Nissan, Sunny Vanette kit that I'm saving for the final version.
The arms should probably be moved forward on the chest. Time will tell if I can pull of a structurally sound way to do that. Custom waterslide decals were used along with Krylon fusion paint for finishing. The front wheels actually steer and the Van mode here is much closer to the 1984 toy than the VW camper used on the other protos so far.
