To say there's been a bit of contraversy regarding the SDCC Exclusive Alternators Nemesis Prime would be a bit of an understatement. Easily the most desired Alternators figure since Alternators Swerve, the figure apparently sold out very quickly Wednesday at San Diego Comic Con.
Today, at 9am EST,
HasbroToyShop.com was to place the figure as "available" and begin taking orders. However, due to a massive influx of people logging in to that system (most for SDCC Star Wars figures), the website remained unstable for hours and the Alternators Nemesis Prime was not made available.
Many of you took it upon yourselves to call HasbroToyShop.com directly through their 1-800 number, and many of us placed orders.
Numerous reports are now coming in saying Hasbro will
NOT honor those phone-call orders from this morning. We understand many of you are worried about your personal information and your credit card information that were given to HasbroToyShop.com phone operators. We urge you to call HasbroToyShop.com directly to resolve the matter and make sure your information, if it was NOT used to order the toy you wanted, is destroyed properly.
Moving on to our next subject... The Transformers Collectors Club.
At 9am CST this morning, Brian Savage released a "very limited" number of Alternators Nemesis Prime figures. Hundreds of Transformers collectors were turned away with "card error" issues. Savage apologized for the problems but said they are completely sold out and will not be re-stocked. He asks that people stop E-mailing and calling regarding the issue, because there's literally nothing they can do.
We'll keep you updated regarding this issue, and if anyone "official" has any more words regarding the matter.
UPDATE!!!Posters at the
AllSpark are reporting having spoken to supervisors at HasbroToyShop.com's call center. According to a supervisor there, the store was only receiving a total of 900 Nemesis Primes to sell. Between phone orders and website orders (apparently if you clicked "Coming Soon" and checked out your cart, you would have a Nemesis Prime there, at least so says this supervisor), the store is saying
they are completely sold out.
Our own Tony Bacala reported in from SDCC today and mentioned that Nemesis Prime is split in to a certain amount to be sold each day, and that they sell out very quickly in the morning.
As usual, we'll have more updates as we come across them.
Thanks to numerous sources for the news.
