Name: Tread Bolt
Faction: Autobots
Bio: TREAD BOLT is a ghost. Though he is an aerial ace, his real talent lies in stealth. Special sensor-refractive armor renders him invisible to all but the most sophisticated detection technology. Silent, super-precise lasers let him take out enemy spotters before they can shout a warning. More than a few DECEPTICONS have been blown to pieces before they ever even heard him coming. He has alienated a lot of his fellow AUTOBOTS, because when he's not sneaking up on DECEPTICONS, he creeps around scaring the heck out of anyone he can find.

Tread Bolt Review

-Submitted by: Knook | Overall Score: 8

Treadbolt is an interesting figure that has caused a split in the fandom, Some people like the colour scheme whilst others hate it. The figure is a repaint of Classics Jetfire and has a more interesting colour scheme. The figure has the normal two modes but both the Jet and the Robot modes have armour that can be attached to make the figure more menacing (Weapons and bulk mostly). The first thing I must say before going deeply into the review is this: The figures colour scheme looks much better in person than in the images we've seen.
Robot Mode:
The figures robot mode is very cool. the main wings of the jet can be folded up or down (When they're down he looks a bit like Kickback). His head looks like a new sculpt (even though its the same) and this proves true for most of his body. The paint scheme is so drastically different that it looks like a different mould. The top of the legs and arms are brown and the bottoms are black. The black and brown colours work well together but look somewhat abstract compared to the blue and yellow of the body. His feet look like "high heeled" shoes because they don't flatten on the ground; they stay as a point. This doesn't effect the posing ability of the figure but does make him look odd (Especially in Kickback mode). As I said earlier the figure also has armour which attaches to him in Robot mode. With the armour attached Treadbolt looks more like Jetfire than a unique figure and the armour only adds more brown, grey and black to Treadbolt making the figure look less abstract, The armour would be great if the helmet was re-moulded. The cannons on the back can fold down to give Treadbolt more fire-power and to make him look more menacing.
Robot Mode: 7/10
Jet mode:
The transformation is mediocre but not too easy. The Jet mode is possibly the best thing about Treadbolt. The Jet looks more like a Jetfire repaint but not horribly. There are no browns or blacks present on the Jet mode but the thrusters are grey. On each side he has "Air Defence" written in a silvery grey and so is the Autobot logo on the back of the cockpit. As with the robot mode armour can be attatched. The armour adds "Bulk" to the figure and brings back the unique image of Treadbolt; the clashing colours and "interesting" look of Treadbolt is brought back. The backpack is mainly black but does contain brown and a large amount of grey.
Jet Mode: 9/10
