Megatron Cartoon / Movie Information

Voice Actor: Hugo Weaving
Cartoon Overview
Two years ago, Megatron was revived from thousands of years of cryogenic slumber - and then unceremoniously defeated by some insignificant fleshling thrusting the very thing he desired, the Allspark, into his chest. His dead body was dumped in the Laurentian Abyss, where it was hoped the ocean's depths and pressure would leave Megatron offline forever.

Unfortunately nobody had foreseen that the Decepticons would find a way to restore their leader. A move spearheaded by the Decepticon Soundwave saw Ravage recover the Allspark shard Optimus Prime removed from Megatron's chest. Along with four of the Constructicons (those based on the designs of Long Haul, Mixmaster, Rampage, and a Scrapper) Ravage dived down into the depths and released the Decepticon doctor, Scalpel. Scalpel used the Allspark shard and parts from the unfortunate Scrapper, and Megatron was reborn!

Megatron's first act on awakening was to destroy a human submarine out of spite. Taking flight in his new form, he flew to the wreck of the Decepticon ship Nemesis, and confronted Starscream, who had taken command while Megatron had been offline. Megatron gave Starscream a harsh reminder of his leadership of the Decepticons "Even in death, my rule is absolute". Megatron also met The Fallen, Megatron's master, who explained to Megatron that Sam Witwicky, the pitiful fleshling who defeated Megatron once before, held the key to a new source of Energon rivaling the Allspark. He also told Megatron that he was a Prime, and as such, could only be harmed by another Prime - such as Optimus Prime.

With his goals in mind, Megatron returned to Earth and had Sam brought to him. He intended to have Scalpel extract Sam's brain and the information it contained, but that pesky Autobot Bumblebee showed up to save his fleshling friend, and Optimus Prime arrived as well. Optimus rescued Sam, but Megatron pursued him. Together with Grindor and Starscream, Megatron fought Optimus Prime in the forests near where Sam had been taken. Optimus Prime put up a good fight, but in the end, Megatron was victorious, impaling Optimus on his new claw, and just to be sure, blasting him in the back at point blank range, killing Prime.

Although Sam got away, Megatron carried on with his plan and overrode Earth's communications network, so that The Fallen could broadcast a demand that Sam be turned over, or all of humanity pay the price.

Then Megatron waited. In Egypt, he had his chance - and mercilessly took his revenge on the boy who once killed him, killing Sam in return. However, Sam was revived by the ancient Primes, and in turn, Optimus Prime was revived. Even though The Fallen was at his side, the two Decepticons were no match now for Optimus Prime, enhanced with booster armor made from the body of Jetfire. Optimus critically wounded Megatron by blowing a chunk of his face off, before killing The Fallen. Megatron wanted to help his master, but Starscream held him back, with the advice that "Sometimes, cowards survive."

Reluctantly, Megatron fled, surviving to fight another day.
