Bio
The other construction Autobots look to Wedge as their leader, even though he’s still young. He’s a natural leader in the making with his take-charge attitiude and revved-up energy. He can be reckless and make mistakes but will never jeopardize his friends, and is always there to help them. He bulldozes into battle with double beam guns.

Overview
Wedge is an orange bulldozer and is the leader of the Build Team, as well as its youngest member. He is certainly the smallest of the four. Besides his robot and bulldozer modes, he also forms the head, chest and shoulder armor of the Build Team’s combined form Landfill.
For this review, I’ll discuss the steps to transform him from vehicle to robot only. For gestalt mode instructions, see the review for Landfill.
Vehicle Mode
Wedge is kind of small compared to his teammates, but practically dwarfs other Transformer bulldozers, such as Bonecrusher (G1). Wedge is colored in bright orange two-tones, with dark gray treads and light gray highlights on the dozer hood and a large Autobot tampo on the roof of the dozer cab. He has wheels hidden within his treads to allow him to roll freely, but his shovel is stationary.
Transformation
First, separate the shovel halves by pulling on each side, and then swing them back towards the cab. Detach the inner shovel section (the dark gray part with the orange pistons), and set aside. Pull the treads away from the body, so the joint that the ball joint is connected to extends out, then turn the treads 90 degrees lengthwise towards the body. Basically, it will look like the treads were pulled out and flipped up against the rest of the dozer.
Next, grab both ends of the tread and pull to slide the rear section back and expose the elbow joint. Rotate the front half of the tread a quarter-turn away from the body to reveal the robot hands. Move the arms away from the body and pull apart the front halves of the dozer. Flip out the front tabs on each half and swing them out to form “L” shapes. Rotate the lower halves down and straighten to form Wedge’s legs. Fold up the tabs at the ends of each of his legs to make his feet. Turn Wedge over and open the small panel on his back. Flip out the robot head and rotate it 180 degrees so he faces front and close the back panel. Take the gray shovel piece from earlier and swing the pistons around so they point in the same direction as the serrated edge. Insert the post into either hand using the hole and you’re done!
Robot Mode
Wedge is still pretty small in robot mode and a little stocky, but that’s mostly due to his chest housing Landfill’s head. Wedge has green painted eyes and a silver face. He has a decent amount of articulation, with full head rotation at the neck, ball joints at the shoulder, elbow and hip, and ratcheting knee joints. He’s a bit top-heavy due to his chest, so he’s limited in the number of poses you can put him in without falling over. As somewhat of a bonus, though, you can transform his arm back into tread mode to give him melee weapons in addition to his double beam gun.
Overall
Wedge is a pretty cool toy and a nice new take on the combiner gimmick. Unlike other combiner groups, he forms the head/chest and is the smallest member. He’s got a decent amount of molded detailing and looks good in both modes, as long as you don’t mind the bright color scheme. I’d give him 9.5 out of 10.
