Cartoon Overview
Millions of years ago, Megatron came to Earth in search of the Allspark, but had his guidance system knocked offline by Earth's magnetic pole. He crashed amid the arctic ice and there he lay until discovered in the nineteenth century by Archibald Witwicky.

Present day. Megatron, preserved in cryogenic stasis, rests beneath the Hoover Dam, in the hands of ultra-secret organization Sector Seven. All the technology of the modern age had been reverse engineered from him.

Megatron's cryogenic slumber came to an end when the Decepticon agent, Frenzy, located Megatron and the Allspark at Hoover Dam. Megatron awoke when Starscream arrived and destroyed the generators supplying power to the cryogenic systems. Megatron awoke and transformed, flying out of the dam, confronting Starscream. Starscream informed Megatron that the Allspark was gone, taken by the human Sam Witwicky and Bumblebee. Megatron told Starscream he had failed him again.

Megatron flew to Mission City, where he attacked and killed the Autobot Jazz by tearing him in two. Casting aside the pieces of Jazz, he went after Sam, who had the Allspark. When Sam was rescued by Optimus Prime, Megatron changed his priority to attacking Optimus. Both warriors fought hard, crashing through buildings, surviving the strongest attacks that they could throw at each other, and taking an airstrike from a squadron of USAF F-22s. In the end, Megatron was slain when Sam Witwicky pushed the Allspark into Megatron's own Spark. Megatron's corpse was buried at sea, the Laurentian Abyss , where it was hoped that it would rest forever.

It didn't.
