One of the last four gestalt basics. Blackout is a repaint of Stormcloud so I'm not going to waste time talking about his transform, points of articulation, or mold design. If you want to know about all that stuff, go read my review of Stormcloud. Go ahead. I can wait.

Blackout's color scheme is vaguely reminiscent of G1 Blast Off. Instead of being orange and brown, Blackout is purple, dark gray, and gold, with some black thrown in (especially around the canopy). He also has a little light powerder blue metallic on his arms and legs. It's a much more attractive color scheme than Stormcloud's is because it actually blends together.

In robot mode, Blackout's head is now mostly in the same purple as his body color, with gold for the lower part of his face and a little of that light blue to the sides. Very striking.

Personally, I like this toy a lot, and even without the combining aspect he's got enough poseability to make a good stand-alone toy. It's also definitely more attractive. Recommended, if you can find it.
