The beloved leader of all Autobots. Dedicated to protecting all life forms -- mechanical, human, and otherwise. Willing to sacrifice anything in order to end the Autobot/Decepticon conflict. Wise and compassionate... the inspiration that fuels every Autobot. Binary bonded to the super intelligent Nebulan computer programmer, HiQ. In engine mode, HiQ handles all of Prime's power needs. Trailer transforms into armed fortress, complete with laser rifle, concussion blaster, and 2 twin particle beam cannons. Tractor and trailer combined construct Optimus Prime's new super-powered robot form.

More Toy Info	The Japanese release, Super Ginrai, featured differently designed arms in addition to die cast metal and clear plastic in the cab portion of the toy. This version would go on to be reissued in Hasbro's Commemorative series, rather than the original US released Powermaster Optimus Prime.

Optimus Prime Review

God Ginrai is the Masterforce incarnation of Optimus Prime.

Ginrai- Ginrai is the powermaster engine. He is 2 inches tall in robot mode. His colors are white, black, and a burgundy-ish color. He also has blue paint aps on his chest and head.
Transformation- Fold the legs to his sides.
Engine mode- 1 1/4 inches long by1 inch wide. His primary colors are grey. black, and a chrome silver.

Optimus Cab- Cab mode- 2 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/2 inches long. 6 with Ginrai in the front.Colors are red, blue, silver, and white. It is accented with translucent blue for the windsheild and silver chrome for the smokestacks.
Tansformation- Insert Ginrai into the front. Fold down the legs. Fold out the arms. Fold down forearms. Fold out feet. Fold down pelvic area. Fold up head.
Robot mode- 7 and 1/4 inches tall. Standard Optimus Prime colors and body style. The only difference is that the front of the cab is on his back. He can hold both the black guns, grey guns, or God Bombers gun.

Weapons- There are 2 black guns that are 4 1/2 inches long. There are also 2 double-barreled grey guns that are 3 1/2 inches long. Godbomber has a black 3 inch long gun that can launch one of the 1 and 1/4 inch missles.

Trailer- The trailer is nearly 9 inches long in grey, red, and blue. the back opens to reveal a place to hide the super mode head that is 3 inches by 2 1/4 inches.
Transformation- Fold up the top flap. Fold the 2 side flaps back. Open the back so that it looks like the Super mode is doing a split. Position the arms and trailer peg so they look like they can either hold a cannon or be one. Fold out the flaps and then fold out the other flaps. Put the black guns on the arms and put the grey guns on the blue road pieces.
The base mode is 15 1/2 inches at its longest point. It is 7 3/4 inches wide and roughly 8 inches tall depending on your positioning of the guns. Ginrai can sit in a grey gun making it look like he is manning a gunnery station. There isnt much else here, butit is a pretty good use for the trailer when it Prime isnt in super mode.
Transformation- remove the guns. Fold up all the flaps. Fold the connector peg so it is on the back of the super mode armour. Fold down the legs. Fold down the arms and extend the fists.

Super Mode- transformation(cab) start out in cab mode. Fold up the robot mode legs so that the cab looks like a cube. Insert the cab from the top. Put ginrai in the front. Put on the super mode head. Put the grey guns on the arms and the black guns in the fists.
Super Ginrai- After all that, you get a 9 1/2 tall super robot with a lot of firepower. The colors are red, blue, grey, black, white, and silver. There is an autobot sticker on each shoulder. The chest of the super robot is the front of the cab.

God Bomber- In trailer mode he is 7 1/4 inches long. He is grey, red, chrome silver, and blue. He can atatch to the cab and trailer to form a double tractor trailer that is 19 1/2 inches long.
Transformation- Take all the parts apart. Re assemble them to look like robot.
Robot- 9 1/4 inches tall in grey, red, and blue. There isnt much to see here.

God Ginrai- Transformation- Take God Bomber apart. Take all the guns off of Super Ginrai. Put God Bombers legs on as God Ginrais boots. Put GBs chest on GGs back. Put GBs arms on GGs arms. Put GBs back on GGs chest. Grey guns go on the legs, black in the hands, and GBs as a shoulder mounted launcher.
Robot- He is just shy of 12 inches tall. His colors are blue, chrome silver, grey, black, and red. He has elements of the vehicle and robot modes present. Definately an awesome Convoy.

Overall, this is a great fig and one of my Grails. He has plenty of playability without too many small parts. The only downside is the lack of articulation. Definately an A s2:

Cartoon Overview
Powermaster Optimus Prime appeared as an animatronic puppet to introduce reruns of several Generation 1 episodes, but he never actually appeared in a US cartoon.

The Japanese series, Super God Masterforce, featured the Japanese incarnation of the toy, Ginrai, in several episodes, although he was totally different to the Optimus Prime in all but looks.

Optimus Prime Comic Book Information

Marvel Overview

Optimus Prime was thought destroyed after he sacrificed himself rather than betray his ideals after some computer game sprites were "killed" during a virtual battle between Optimus and Megatron. However, his personality was stored on a floppy disk, and downloaded into a new Powermaster on Nebulos, where he was also binary bonded to Nebulan scientist Hi-Q. In this form, Optimus sought out his original body and the Matrix within it, for only it could defeat Unicron. Recovering the Matrix, Optimus sacrificed himself, flying down Unicron's throat with the Matrix in his hands, destroying the demon planet. However, before this suicide run, Optimus ejected Hi-Q from his body, unwilling to sacrifice the Nebulan along with him. Little did he know the Nebulan would become the key to his salvation...
