Now I have to paint the hips black, the lower arms, lower legs, intercooler, and rims silver...
Then finally I have to tackle the decals... CHECK OUT "THE MAKING OF RAZERWIRE" HERE |

I'm in no hurry to rush him, he's awesome at what he does, but its been a couple months now and my curiosity is getting the better of me....

Lower arms painted silver, seats detailed, swords added...
Next up:
Paint rims silver, paint hips black, paint lower legs silver, and switch out the white gun for a silver one from BT Smokescreen...
I was being retarded when I stripped off the black paint from Ricochet's hips... I needed them to be black... CHECK OUT "THE MAKING OF RAZERWIRE" HERE |

Paint's pretty much done... Just wondering if I really need to take out that gold Autobot badge on his left shoulder and put a silver Autobot sticker in place of it... Also thinking about painting the hilts of the swords, but Storm Shadow wouldn't like that...
But here's a recap of process:
Stripped all of the paint off his head and repainted it...
Stripped off all the flames...
Stripped the paint off his crotch and hips...
Painted his lower arms and lower legs silver...
Painted his hips black...
Painted his gun silver...
Detailed his seats...
Removed Ricochet from the vanity plate...
Painted his rims silver...
Stripped the defrost stripes from the rear windshield...
Added his swords...
Now the question everyone's been waiting for: How the HECK am I going to do the decals??? And the answer is I have no idea...
But I need to make him look like this with the decals: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...ire-NewSig.jpg CHECK OUT "THE MAKING OF RAZERWIRE" HERE |

After that, get some white decal paper (the Testors paper isn't that great, get something better at the hobby shop) And print your decals out on that. Give yourself plenty of black border around the edges, then cut as close to the gray as you can.
You'll probably have to cover up the edge of the paper, on the decals. A fine tipped detailing brush, and a bottle of black paint will take care of that. You could probably thin the paint a little. to help keep the finish smooth.
Once the decals are on, and your happy with them; clear coat it.
Paint the swooshes first! You wouldn't want decals that big, on a toy. And, they would make for fairly large decals. Once they're painted, you can experiment with your graphics program to match the paint.
You could also do the decals as just the black borders on clear paper, and put them down over gray. But, you'd have to paint most of the alt mode gray, first. Then you'd have to clear coat it, mask the swooshes and decals, (you don't want to put tape over bare decals) then paint it black. |
