I decided I had enough of the lame, short chain that Oil Slick came with. Yes, he needed one more like that on the back of the package so I made one.

maybe... Just busy as he'll with school this semester.

I used a length of metal chain from the jewelery making department from a local craft store. The full chain was huge.

Did you crimp the ends by hand or did you use pliers? I would like to do that to mine, but I want it as clean as your turned out.

The links were too fine to get around the plastic loop on the barrel ends so I had to loop the chain through the plastic half circle. I cut the end links with my x-acto knife and pried it open just a little with a jewelers flat head screwdriver. I then [very carefully] hooked the cut [end] link to another link on the other side of the half circle as close as possible to the half circle to hold it as tightly as I could get it. I then crimped it with needle nose pliers.

It took quite a few tries thanks to my lack of fine motor control and the fine size of the links. In the end, however, it was well worth the effort.
