    WTF @ Botcon 2014 - 03 - Saturday - June 21 2014

A classically loud and occasionally explicit series of Botcon bar recordings ends with a lot of tired people standing in a circle and talking about the nature of unofficial independent transforming toy robots for about 45 minutes or so.

Yay! My few words weren't cut out!

It's really funny that I understand what people were saying in the podcast better compared to when I was standing right next to them.

Uh, I don't think we are the "second party". Second party is whoever develops a product but doesn't release it by themselves, leaving that to the licensor, i.e. first party. Hence the term "second party developer".
Then again, I may be terribly wrong.

You are. And where did you find the term "second party developer"?

Quoted from Third-party source - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia but can be found else where.

In other words the developer/supplier is the first party(has/taktomy). The consumer is the second party in the transaction. And well anyone else is third party. Now there is licienced and unlicienced 3rd parties and thats where it gets blurry. I like the term independent to help clarify but at this point 3rd party is too ingrained.

About the podcast. Wow. Saturday was a fun night. With the way the schedule was changed this year it was really the only night we got trashed. Most botcons are a wonderful roller coaster of drunken nights and hung over days. Jazzsanti and "Aerros2" got pretty sloshed at our pregame before arriving at the bar and both were paying for it the next day.

If anyones interested to see a pic of "aerros2" back at the room that night look me up on twitter and go through my pics. Foster said he looked like a discarded pretender shell.

The topic of stealthburping came up. I'm guessing its because either Jazzsanti or myself blasted Vange1us with one.

So Vange. Which one of us was it? And can you guess what we ate before arriving at the bar?

It'a a video game thing. Completely misinterpreted by me, I suppose?

Thanks for pointing that out. It just strikes me as odd how consumers are considered a "party" when both the first and the third parties are companies.

Think of it this way. It takes 2 parties to form a contract. When talking about transformers has/tak are considered 1st, and we buying the goods, the 2nd.

It's very easy to get confused though. Check this out for mind blowification, to a third party company they are 1st party in their contract to the consumer.
