Speaking about 'the Hobbit', does anybody know who voices smaug? It sounds like David Kaye. I tried to spot who the voice actor was in the credits, but there's 3 or more rows scrolling all at once.

I'm surprised Vangelus didn't mention his Ai-chan statuette for his most memorable non toy TF merchandise.

As for the second part all I have to say is

    Drift vs Silver Samurai.

IDW Arcee as a part of DCU Suicide Squad.

Early in the podcast, there was some discussion about Pasadena. I'm only a bit into the program at present (I listen to it in my car on the way to work), but I can fill in a few details that you guys seemed unsure about in the part I was listening to already.

The Rose Parade route goes down Colorado Blvd. The Convention Center (and hotel) are very close to the route, but not quite on it. They're along Green Street, which is one street parallel to Colorado to the south.

The only convention for which I remember an explicit statement about being in Pasadena because Peter Cullen lives nearby was BotCon 2004, which was before FunPub (and the first time BotCon was in Pasadena). I'm sure the proximity of guests has been a factor in years since, as well, but that's the one for which I remember it being expressly discussed.

As many of you know, I've worked in Pasadena for more than a decade, and lived in the general area for 16 years. If anyone has questions about the area, I'm happy to provide whatever information I can. In the meantime, I've compiled this "Survival Guide" that I've been trying to keep up-to-date every time a new BotCon is located here: Transforming Seminarian: The Unofficial BotCon Pasadena Survival Guide - Updated for BotCon 2014

My idea for a TF in a comic series is G1 Bumblebee in the Terminator comics by Darkhorse comics.

The story is set in the post apocalyptic future. The Autobots left for Cybertron before judgement day, and don't know the machines took over. Bumblebee is on a mission to recover some piece of data from the old crashed Ark site. His ship is shot down by Skynet and Bee discovers hostile humans who hate him and an evil machine intelligence slaughtering humans. Bee has to convince John Conner he's not an evil machine, and help the resistance. Of course he discovers that Skynet was made by humans reverse engineered minor Cybertron tech into TORC-III's systems. Torc wants more Transformers tech, so Bumblebee hasd to destroy his small ship to keep it from the machines. Then the race is on to uncover the lost crash site of the Ark, whose location was purged from the world's computers by the Transformers before leaving for Cybertron to keep it safe.

Skynet scans Bumblebee and uses him as the basis for a new model Terminator. The story ends with Bumblebee winning a major battle in a terminator factory which is making experimental transforming terminators (look like silver Bumblebees with Terminator heads!). Bee is able to erase all the TF data from Skynet's databanks. Bee is stuck on Earth, but he develops shielding that will keep Skynet from scanning him again. And so the battle continues!

There is a teaser at the end with Skynet recovering some transmitter equipment from Bumblebee's ship, and contacting Cybertron and requesting they send representatives to earth to open trade (energy for technology), a singal recieved by both the Autobots and Decepticons!

Wondercon is in Anaheim, not Pasadena.

It's a small world was created by Disney, designed by Disney artist Mary Blair, for the Worlds Fair in NY, later moved to Disneyland. Wasn't bought from anyone else haha.

Oh, on the topic of Adventure games, they didn't so much as die, its just that the big publishers stopped making them. Telltale is actually made of Lucasarts people.

There's a number of decent indie (& free) Adventure Games out there on AGS. As well as some other ones out there.

There's been also something of a Kickstarter revival of Adventure Games. There was the Doublefine Kickstarter for an Adventure game that brought in crazy amounts of money (at least 2 million, if memory serves). The Longest Journey got funding as well. Plus, a new Broken Sword, a revised Leisure Suit Larry, and something for the Space Quest guys. As well as at least two other projects I can't recall.

Here's a good website for Adventure game coverage, if interested.

ScummVM :: Home is good for playing old stuff too.

Don't have time to link everything I've mentioned, but figure its enough to get some looking.

Quest for Infamy, also looks decent.

I understood the question not as "what would make a cool crossover?" but "what story from elsewhere would you like to see implemented in Transformers? So not "Starscream joins the Thunderbolts" but "Starscream in a Thunderbolts-like situation in a Transformers series."
I wasn't going to post my idea because it's more in line with that and kind of removed from where the discussion is going, but I figured "what the hell?"

My idea? A Transformers version of the The Scarlet Pimpernel. The Scarlet Pimpernel is the forerunner of the genre that would give us Zorro and Batman. He was a British aristocrat who acted foppish, yet was secretly a mysterious hero who rescued French nobility from death during the French Revolution.
So my idea would be to put Tracks in that role on early Great War Cybertron. Most new interpretations of the Transformers story paint the Decepticons as revolutionaries, so maybe they start executing high ranking Cybertronians belonging to the old order in areas under their control. Tracks acts like a foppish upper class Cybertronian on the Autobot side of the lines who appears to disdain fighting, but is secretly organizing a movement behind 'Con lines to get those awaiting execution back to safe haven in Iacon.

Hey Vangelus, I've got a number of the comics you can have if you'd like them. I really don't want them but don't have anyone who wants them.

YES! i'm sold on this idea.

I also think G1 Cliffjumper or G1 Ironhide as Batman's Tumbler would be a good mix. Cosmos would be a good one for Guardians of the Galaxy or something spacey.

I like the idea of a zombie story with a robot in it too, that's cool.
