WTF Primetime - 32 - Flunnel Mision - May 6 2012

I see that sometimes over the last few weeks The team seem to struggle to find a talking point and then after it's all done there's a flood of "I'm surprised you didn't mentions" hurdled at everyone.

Perhaps a possible remedy for running dry is to try to address each talking point to a location, a character or take it scene by scene.
For example there's lots to say about Miko or the Insecticon in Tunnel Vision.
This seems sometimes to be how you approach it anyway with the often mentioned "Soundwave is quietly awesome" talk.

I enjoy it when you refer back to previous instances such as Ratchet's tool getting infected.
I'd forgotten that aside from it being the 1st time he says "I needed that".
But sometimes I feel concentrating on one way of doing it lets things gets skipped over such as vocal memes, references to past episodes in dialogue (like Miko hating trains was one, and Knockout saying he scratches back when he takes damage another for example).

I don't think it's often you fail to mention something that lots of other people do - but it does happen, Now personally I have little or no reason to think the Decepticon Warship is either the Nemesis or Trypticon - but some seem to think so and for more reason than some glyphs on a display - but simply due to aligned continuity reasons.

I guess we still can't know how much of that stuff will show up in Prime - but personally I'd not be at all surprised to see an Original Prime or The Fallen show up in some way (again) beyond the small flashback they had.


One thing I was wondering when watching Flying Mind was Megatron free or Dark Energon after the Unicron events and then he reinfused himself ? Otherwise why did he eyes change colour - is that only down to zombine mind control powers rather than his power source ?

And I'm still wondering why Dark Energon does not work on Starscream ?
Anyway I do just wonder if you tried approaching an episode from a different slant if it might lead you to think things you might otherwise not have spring to mind.

For the record, Knockout used his shock staff back in his debut in Deus ex Machina. I was happily surprised to see its return.

There's no way we can remember everything, nor do we care if we do or not. We hit the parts we find interesting, and if we miss something, it's no big deal. If people catch things we didn't, that's awesome. Primetime is to give our thoughts on the episode, not a contest to make sure we didn't miss a single iota of input. There is no reason to change our format.

And we usually record an hour long show for a 22 minute cartoon episode, I'd hardly say we are struggling to find talking points, it's more we are making sure we didn't forget anything that caught our attention.

The explanation of why Miko is so Miko-y actually makes me MORE certain that she's clinically insane. She is so desperate to be recognised she dives into danger, nearly getting all her friends killed and venting byb getting an insanely twisted joy from watching people being murdered in front of her eyes. On the whole "Knock Out is gay" thing...I think it's mostly slashfic writers, I didn't like the character Vogel that much, on flying mind I liked it as well, interesting that you guys brought up GlaDos from portal, I just thought Hal from 2001 Space Odyssey and yeah that moment of when he got messed up...that looked really painful, but when that happened I was thinking "ok...how is he going to react?"
