ha....my busted logic for the insecticons:

killing a lion running around with a gun is a hell of alot easier than killing a lion on top of you..

...other than that..Im gonna go with Gog's theory...

Plus...pretty sure that the starscream that was yelling in pain at the end was the original...screaming out from the pain of the clone getting killed in the face..

Armada reminded me of Animated so much cause of Starscream's little plan.

I have not listened in yet so idk what your guy's take on this but I am saddened that the Insecticons pretty much turned into cannon fodder and didn't do a whole lot in the episode except look cool with that giant swarm of them and probably give Vangelus a reason to army build them!

Phew! I was worrying for some time that you'd skip over Grill for being a clipshow and all.

Guys. The Insecticon didn't crash into a tree. Watch it in slow mo. One of them panicked because it saw the tree and wrecked into his buddy. The tree never even came close to them.

I likened it to the tie fighters in Empire Strikes Back, but it was more the one pilot in a New Hope panicking when he saw the falcon and crashing into his friend.

That doesn't explain the underpowered insecticon drones, but that tree never made contact with the insecticon.

That's even WORSE. At least if they were flying quickly they could get confused by an unknown envornment. Just running into each other is even more inexcusable. :lol

Heheh. From the way the shot was edited, we see the action from their point of view. He is shooting at Arcee and you see the shadow of the tree coming up fast, so he didn't realize it was coming because their aim is based on the horn on their head, so they have to look down if they intend to shoot down. Then he looks up and brakes to avoid the tree, but his buddy rear-ends him.

:lol  Well after hearing that suggestion in the podcast, I almost didn't want to throw off that possibility by bringing this up.

However, it's still possible that any "normal" tree would not have generated that kind of reaction by the insecticon, but when he realized that it was Botanica, he panicked a lot more, thus leading to his ultimate demise.

30 minute mark right now, but I'll say that I'm personally fine with the whole Airachnid/Insecticon thing. Airachnid's fate was already foreshadowed in Grill and well, Law of Inverse Ninja.

Also, I'm wondering if the reason Airachnid's able to control the Insecticons was due to her experiments during the war. Maybe she snuck in fail safes or their cerebral algorithms or whatever were based on hers, thus they were "of the same mind".

It JUST hit me. I was mistaken about the clone being the one that said "That hurt!" after Starscream shot him. It was Starscream hurting from feeling the pain of the clone being shot. I can't believe I didn't realize that earlier. :lol  That part is now redeemed to me.

Yeah, it was almost like what Vangelus was talkin' about. We just didn't actually see it happen.

I hope Bulkhead's wrecking ball becomes radioactive from the reactor attack and starts glowing a clear white color. That, or it dies from leukemia and becomes a ghost. And Bulkhead fights people with the ghost of a wrecking ball.

Then Hasbro could be like "Yeah, we heard you guys wanted more show accurate toys. So we wrote the episodes to reflect the toys. Suck on that."

Haha, I figured you guys would do something like this. Not that there was nothing to talk about regarding Grill, but a primetime on it would be... lacking.

Great turn around on the podcasts of late. I don't know whose hard work is behind that, but much appreciated!

I don't remember if the warship has been called the Nemesis in the show, but the staff definitely refereed to it as such in the season 1 commentaries.

Also, I don't think you guys really "get" the Aligned Continuity yet.
WFC, Exodus, Prime, and whatever future endeavors come about are NOT meant to be in the same timeline, but they ARE drawing from the same template.

The wiki puts G1 cartoon, marvel, DW, and IDW Optimus Prime together on the same page but that doesn't mean they're implying they're the exact same guy.

Although, Prime probably gets the most creative freedom because 1. They're the cartoon and 2. They're the furthest in the timeline.

The games also probably get some freedom due to them trying to appeal to mainstream Transformers nostalgia.

You're reading way too much into what we said. We wondered why the wiki named their ship Trypticon. That's it. Yes, it's entirely due to the way the wiki organizes their pages. But I thought it was silly. Has nothing to do with us "not getting" continuity.

Lolz yea, i got confused at that part

The way i explain it is that in both of their other appearances, the Insecticons did kick ass, but they were in their robot mode. Maybe their insect mode they are more vulnerable or something. Because in their other appearances they seemed to favor their robot mode a lot. it seems to me that if you had an equally strong beast mode, you would use it just as much. Like maybe they wanted to take out as many as they could before they got places, because unless im mistaken most or all of them that died were in bug-mode. I also got the impression that they included them in orion pax to set up their threat more, since they were taken out so easily.

The only way I could explain away the Insecticons nerfed weakness in this episode is that however Airrachnid was controlling them, it must have been similar to that of the Vehicon Generals in Beast Machines. The more you have to control, the harder it is to do more complicated tasks. When she was controlling just the one, she could concentrate all her power on him. But having to split her control over say 100, just keeping them under her control probably taxed her abilities to their limit.
