    Yeah, what Guard Convoy said.

Also, wouldn't be kind of a chore to time it just right? Like, especially if you're not only waiting until the panel gets into full swing, but also waiting in line for your turn to come? Like, I can understand when people hold in a piss or whatever, but in my experience, poop requires a much more dedicated messenger.

Something that seems like it's worth mentioning, all the talk of money around Botcon, if you want to just go to meet people, it's very easy to go to Botcon for very cheap.

The one Botcon i went to in 2008, I think I spent $500 total for the entire trip, maybe. And i bought some stuff int he dealer room.

Oh God, the autograph lines

Just be sure to get there early so you can take a photo with the guest and maybe share a sentence or two in conversation, otherwise you'll have to deal with platform boots man yelling at you to slap your item down for a signature and to get the hell out of there.

Last year was horrible. The early people in line would spend TOO long of a time with the guests (platform boots man wouldn't say anything) and then with 5 minutes left in the autograph session he'd start rushing everybody along.

Human Alliance is the Western Version of Kiss players why do you think Human Alliance Bumblebee looks so nervous around Sam.

The reason Sam's not happy is Mikaela was cheating on him with the repaint Human Sideswipe.

...Pretty sure you've ended up in the wrong podcast thread.

Regarding the Five-Sixty by Wolfgang Puck: It's not exactly a steakhouse, although they DO have one steak (14oz Grilled Bone Out New York Strip Steak) you could order. It's mainly an asian-inspired place with shrimp, lobster, and salmon. Also, an 18% Gratuity will be added to all tickets with a party of six or more.

I wish i could go to Botcon :/ My dad works for American Airlines, at least for now, so theoretically i could call him and he could hook me up with free flight, but id still hafta have enough money for a room, the package itself, AND the dealer room. Maybe if it ever comes closer to where i live

Oh yeah. I'm not a big autograph guy, but last year I was hanging with some friends who are big autograph guys, and it was just brutal! I remember there this one loser who was the first in line and spent literally half an hour begging them to help him get into voice acting! :banghead:

Which reminds me, some of my biggest pet peeves(and I'm sure many other BotCon veterans' as well) with people in the line at a panel are:
    3. Asking a question at the wrong panel(for example: asking why didn't the FE voyagers come out at the TFCC panel instead of the Hasbro panel)
    2. Asking a question at the wrong convention(for example: asking Hasbro when they are going to make a Jem live action movie. Ask that at JemCon, not BotCon)
    1. Asking how to get into voice acting(here's a hint: Step 1=Go to acting school. Step 2=Get an agent. Step 3=Go to auditions. Step 4=Repeat Step 3.)
I also agree with what was said on the podcast, like asking for an autograph or a picture is really annoying because that's what the autograph sessions are for. If you can't be bothered to go to the autograph session don't go to the panel hoping to make up for it there. If for some reason you couldn't get into autograph line, wait until after the panel. Don't ask during the panel because you're taking away from other people who have legitimate questions to ask. The voice actors usually hang around for 5 or 10 minutes after the panel anyway while the next panel is setting up so that is the perfect opportunity to get an autograph or picture if you missed the autograph session before. If anything, unless it's a big superstar guest like Peter Cullen, they'll probably be hanging around the convention. So you'll probably be able to catch them in the bar, or the dealer room, or the casino night, or wherever if you miss out the first few times.

But the number one piece of advice I can give anyone when going to BotCon, or TFCON, or any convention is: Don't be that guy. Let that guy be that guy. Don't do anything to make yourself that guy. Just be cool.

Listening to this makes me wish I was going this year, hopefully next year though, cause ever since E3 and Blizzcon, the convention bug has hit me hard!

I am going to SD Comic-Con this year and this podcast is actually a good bit of tips for SDCC as well.

Do you think the leader of the Dart police is Dart Vader? yes, I went there!

Me:"Oh hey, con prep. This will be a quick fun liste...WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S OVER 2 HOURS!?" :lol

Anyway, I appreciate the con prep supplementals even though I can't attend a Transformer con for the foreseeable future. Hopefully I can put this advice to good use one day.

Great bunch of advice fellas! Being a semi-regular con-goer (Not Botcon yet.) I can say your advice definitely can be applied to any con you go to. I agree that Wheaton's Law should be your starting point. Also I'm very curious now as to Seth's "Passive-Aggressive Credit Card Protest" and hope he'll let us all in on it once he's returned from his trip. :)
