| Space Ninja Join Date: Jul 2004 Posts: 8,516 Location: The Baltan Star (Maryland) | I think I finished listening to 176. The listens kinda blurred together, since I pulled one of those "fall asleep during the middle to Aaron's dulcet tones" and gave it another shot later around the middle. I'm not gambling on 177 putting me to sleep. My Junkion Exchange Feedback![]() ![]() |

A lot of good stuff was said guys, i really feel Funpub needs to hear what was said. At the very least, I feel that they should consider hiring someone who is adept at using social media and can do so without enraging the fanbase.
TF Legends name: TheZizzlerin other news, i completely agree with the assessment of Million Publishing's United Stepper. The toy looks amazing, but i can't afford it Sales http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/items-...ous-lines.html feedbackhttp://www.tfw2005.com/boards/junkio...-feedback.html |

| Maxipads, attack! Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 368 | All in all another wonderful episode. Just one thing that bugged me. The Twitter discussion, and not in the way you might think. First of all, yes the Occupy BotCon joke was in bad form. No denying that. For a lot of the same reasons, however, the pod cast team taking a definite side on the Occupy political issue was similarly in bad form. I'm aware that fandoms, especially ones that tend to congregate on the net, tend to lean left as a general rule of thumb, and that's ok. The thing is, however, that I don't like to mix politics with my hobbies. Lord knows we're bombarded with political nonsense from all sides every day through the course of our lives. Like any other hobby I look at Transformers as a pleasant distraction from those things. It's because of this that I found the BotCon Twitter account's Occupy joke to be unnecessary and proactive, despite the fact that I consider myself a moderate conservative. Likewise it's why I had an issue with the podcast team taking a clear stand on the Occupy issue here. I think everyone, be it the guy behind the BotCon Twitter feed or the WTF@TFW crew, would do well to realize that they reach an audience that's broader then those that agree with their personal political leanings. It's especially important to keep this in mind when what you're doing is within the realm of a hobby. Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. I genuinely enjoy this podcast, but the political stuff this week just took me out of it. Keep up the good work. ![]() |
