Haha I killed DJ Vangelus earlier today. Finally beat SR3 a few hours later. Great stuff.
I was surprised they didn't toss in the flame decals to customize the Semi to movie Optimus.
I love me some Saints Rizo.

What was the name of the dealer TJ got the badges from? I made mental note to check them out, but I forgot the first letter in the name.

Exactly right. What's also notable is that nearly all of the figures are based on the moment that Godzilla appears for the first time in that particular movie. So when TJ wonders WTF's up with the hillside on his Godzilla vs. Megalon piece, that's because that's how Godzilla made his entrance that time. Later waves strayed a bit from this theme, but the vast majority are 1st appearances.

Also, that mark on Godzilla's chest (from the Tokyo S.O.S. piece) is actually a scar from when Mechagodzilla blasted a huge fucking HOLE in him from the previous movie, Godzilla X Mechagodzilla. If you want to see a version where Godzilla IS leaking radiation, look for the 1995 "Burning" Godzilla. I have this translucent version, which looks a lot more impressive when backlit. And see all those buildings? Individual pieces. I paid $25 for mine back in '95, I'm pretty sure it goes for at least 3 times that now.

And of course in the new millennium series of Godzilla films the new Mechagodzilla was called, Kiryu.

The podcast was interesting because we found out that Vangelus loves vinyl, but is freaking out that he's in a video game. Good stuff.

The only issue I have with them being the figures TJ bought, although they make the most sense, is I don't know which of them is supposed to be the vs. Megalon version. None of those listed on ClubTokyo are listed as 1973. It could be that ClubTokyo is missing a Sakai set. I never collected the line myself, but they've always been a fantastic and detailed line of figures.

American... Godzilla??? I've heard of some irradiated iguanas, maybe you're thinking of that.

:) lol :lol  :lol  :lol  :lol )

Bandai's actually made a few figures of "Zilla", as they call him (or her), but none in this series. There's a -somewhat- comparable one in the HG Godzilla series 4 gashapon set, which is also widely bootlegged. There's also a hollow vinyl figure from the '98 Mothra candy toy series, but the best one is a solid vinyl figure from the Hyper Godzilla candy toy series form that same year.

Final Works series. Damn, now I have to break out all my pieces & start a movie marathon or something. CURSE YOU, OMEGUS!!!

Oh, well duh. I knew it had to be around somewhere. Not sure how I missed it.

ClubTokyo is missing it, but there was also a 4" vinyl Battle Set series that included Finaro-Goji versus Zilla.

All these nerdy corrections were what I was going to say in response to this ep. So, thanks for saving me the typing(?)

Also, I've got the MonsterArts Godzilla on its way to me. SAL shipping from HLJ, so it'll be a little while....

Awesome haul for DJW. That Robin Dragster is like the rarest Kenner Batman vehicle. It was originally supposed be in Kenner's the Dark Knight Collection in 1990 and looked like this:

It never made it out for Batman Returns so they used the mold for the Animated Series as a Robin vehicle. Apparently when the Robin Dragster was in production the factory producing them burned down and the mold for it was destroyed . Kenner just sold off the 1500 or so they did produce and never bothered dumping the money into making a new mold. This is why if you search for them on Ebay a MISB will set you back $400 - $600.

D'oh! Almost got my question answered this week. At least I know I'm towards the top of the queue.

Aaron has went and got me interested in other Figuarts, now that he hooked me up with that Shinken Gold figure. I've got my eyes peeled in the hopes that Shinken Red might appear at my local TRU (or in Charlotte, since I plan on checking out TRU up there this week). I might even go as far as ordering one of those bug-man thingies.

Hmm...the edge of this rabbit hole seems to be kind of slippery...
