Well, in one Transformers comic Sunstorm used a DDT and a Stone Cold Stunner on Jetfire or Skyfire, in which I thought was awesome. Anyways get that out of my system looking forward on episode 170.

You know what, I'm sick of this.

Fuck you Vangelus, and fuck both teams. Who do you think you are?! You're paid good money and compensated well beyond the time invested to produce Transformers audio content on a regular basis, and you can't even stick to your own schedule. On top of that, you can't stay on-topic for two to four hours when there's always a wealth of news about Transformers to discuss. It's not like Transformers are a cyclical or seasonal property! THERE'S ALWAYS NEWS.

There is no excuse for the backtalk either. We're the ones writing your checks. You have no choice but to listen to our demands and deliver the tailor-made content we want from you (weekly, need I remind you). Frankly, you're lucky to even get away with the losses of some of your hosts or this split into biweekly teams. Now it's time for you all to put up AND shut up. You have nothing better to do, and we hired you to create what is the only Transformers-related podcast on the internet. From this point forward, you conceited assholes had better comply, because if you don't, your asses are so fired and you'll end up homeless without our support.

We'll need to have a discussion on how your opinions are objectively wrong later.

If we do not cover a particular news item, it is often because we either are not interested enough to talk about it or did not find it interesting enough to remember to bring up. I can't even think of the last time any of us have bought something off Shapeways.

We scroll back through the entire week's news pages and do take notes. Early on we tried making topics out of everything, and it resulted in a lot of "What do you think? --> I dunno." Unless there were very united answers to citing listeners for topics, I would not want to set the precedent of covering a topic because 2 or 3 people said they want to hear about it. At this time I don't want to add new complications to how we do things, as I only have so much time each week.

Please understand that these quotes in particular are crits I cannot take very seriously as they are a combination of projecting a singular personal outlook alongside hypothetical hyperbole. There is no "list of preferred Podcasts" outside of individual listener preference, to which we can not cater to or 100% satisfy any single listener. And the second quote I cannot take very seriously without a lot of statistics and evidence to back it up once it begins to cite "a lot of people".

As a specific response... Shapeways and Renderform.

Renderform does get a mention in our Cherry Bomb talk this week, but only a glancing one. Unfortunately it is a one man company that puts out small kits that are, to me at least, not terribly impressive. It is almost akin, again to me, of finding accessories from other toys or toylines that work well with an existing toy. Nothing thrilling.

Shapeways is even less exciting to me as a thing in Transformers news. The base concept is thrilling, getting to rent time and material on a rapid prototyping machine is awesome, but there is a metric ton of stuff on there and quite frankly some of it should be removed from the internet. On top of that, the quality of some of the printed objects that I have seen is sub par. Since they are printed layer by layer, fine detail gets lost rapidly. I know that modelers put a lot of time into making things look great, and it is an excellent way to only get things produced as needed, but you then pay for that privilege and no-body ends up winning. Except for Shapeways.

There's a whole lot of 'not getting jokes' and 'bein' a jerk' goin on in this thread and I'm just gonna shake my head.

Shake my head in awe and shame.

    And arousal.

You guys already know this, but I'll just say it to back you up: It's your podcast, do it however you want. More to the point, it's awesome the way you're doing it now, so don't get flustered by the vocal minority. Obviously it'd be a bad show if you forced yourselves to talk about something you're not interested in, and you always give the truly important news a fair bit of discussion. Keep up the great work, guys!

I love that this conversation can actually still happen at this point.

Like, look at it this way. There's a good number of Transformers podcasts out there, and there's also a good number of toy podcasts out there. WTF@TFW is friends to like four or five different podcasts that talk about toys specifically. I don't...listen to the other ones that much though. Why? I'm honestly not that interested in the bulk of Transformers news. Oh boy some vinyl records were found in a basement somewhere, wow, fetch me my god damn hat and coat.

Insular fandoms are probably the worst thing on the internet. Ever. Like I've been doing this internet thing for a WHILE and I can tell you that no matter what your hobby is, trying to talk about JUST THAT weekly in an entertaining fashion is strenuous, difficult and sometimes really dull.

Similarities should only be used as a point of introduction. They should flavour a conversation and set the tone, a continuing conversation is actually healthy if it focuses on difference, and it should be done with respect and candor. I like this thing, do you like this thing? Oh neat. What else do you like? Tell me more. You know, like that. Vangelus actually posted a video where he was at NYCC talking to a guy from Bluefin distribution about Kamen Rider in the West. They can NOT figure out why it's so huge here but they have actually noticed that there is a massive overlap between TF fans and KR fans.

That is something that probably not have ever been discovered if it was not for ONGOING conversations that have started within THIS COMMUNITY about all sorts of things.

Conversations of difference, embracing difference, articulating difference is what makes a community grow. It is about starting new conversations and generating awareness, it is about being open about yourself when you meet people and not restricting the narrowness of your line of thinking. It is about sharing your interests, ideas and personality with others. It is about being open and honest and saying you know what? Maybe there's no Transformers news this week, maybe the toys just aren't worth buying today, maybe we should go out for ice cream.

At the end of the day it's a Transformers COMMUNITY podcast, the cast of WTF@TFW aren't actually reporters for TFW2005. They're members of the community who have been recording their conversations in a ordered fashion for your entertainment. Frankly, I think that's awesome. I've made friends by just LISTENING to WTF@TFW, and I think that's a sign of an excellently put-together show that it can generate conversation and have hosts who are open and willing to communicate and joke around about a whole number of topics. The Transformers COMMUNITY is not the Transformers HOBBY, it's a group of people who (wowee weewa) actually are human beings who exist outside of their hobby, and the point of forming a community is to explore what kinds of people there are who are also Transformers fans. Because honestly if it was anything BUT that there'd be a forum for discussing newsposts and that's IT.

Like frankly, and this is kind of a bleak thing to say but someday this forum isn't going to exist. I mean it's already buckling under the weight of every Con and garage sale that gets posted. Someday this place isn't going to be a thing and if it was a HEALTHY thing while it lasted, the community will actually persist and become something new and different. The reason communities exist is because they are willing to constantly be talking about new and different things so that actual attachments and relationships are formed out of difference so there will be a desire to sustain them when the grazing grounds dry up.

RedAlert Rescue, if you have beef with the way Moonbase 2 dose things it's no good to bring that here, they are there own show with there own boards and. If you don't like our off topic talk that's been pushed to the end then stop listening when we get there. If these terms are not acceptable then I guess we are at an end-pass.

You have stated you're point over and over again, and we have stated our feelings now let's move on.

RedAlert Rescue, weren't you just complaining about them getting off topic? Now your complaining about them not going off topic enough?

RAR, you have made several multiple-hundreds words posts explaining your position. At this point, half the content of this thread consists of it.

Your points haven been noted. You don't have to explain it anymore. Let's get on with the thread.

    Thank you.

So when does it become trolling? Clearly concessions were made in good faith by the the podcasters to accommodate those who were not into the "off-topic." The horse was then after slaughtered, it's poor corpse danced upon with heated fury by.. well, names need not be named. When does it cross the line? :peoples:

~I'd respectfully like to request that this thread of discussion come to a close for this thread~

It has reached its zenith and on my side of the table, there will be no more concessions towards it at this time. I am not going to change my approach to off-topic based on the feedback provided as it has not done anything to sway my opinion or desire to initiate any kind of notable action plan.

If anyone feels the need to be selfish enough to try and get in a last word, please do not reply to them and let their post stand as a quiet example of not honouring my request.

I demand pictorial and/or video evidence regarding the existence of the alleged Shocker Toy product that Vangelus claims to have received.
