WTF @ TFW - 167 - September 30 2011 Join Vangelus, Gogdog, and Seth Buzzard as they get so 3rd party, they become 4th party. WOOOOO! Just in time for pre-class listening. Also, Dinobot Nuva is going to love the gimmick question.
I was laughing throughout my question's answeration (so much so that a Vangelus quote now occupies my sig), particularly the guesses as to how "Iridescent" actually sounded. And, of course, Vangelus was and indeed is brilliant as always. P.S. I withdraw my P.S. because Seth is mean.
Seth singing and Gogdog not wanting to go first = best parts of the podcast. And you should have made the intermission a Linkin Park song for the lols.
Im just wondering when they are going to do a Transformers podcast and not a game podcast or an Audio video podcast? Twenty-seven years of TF history and all they can talk about about is marvel, dirty birds, kamen rider, halo, revotech and soul chur..chicken toys. The podcast should be renamed "everything else we collect and maybe some transformers stuff " not haten...Just sayin folks..just sayin!!!
We are in a lull between new product that gets everyone interested. As such it is hard to talk about the same Wave 1-2 product that has been sitting on the shelves. We want to talk about Transformers very much so. I know I have tried very hard (and succeeded) to not buy some of the Prime toys or Takara toys that are out there for way,way too much money. We do the show out of the love of Transformers first and foremost. Or Just sayin, you can feel free to un-subscribe or not listen to our show. Just sayin.
Don't think you're the only one who's upset about the Darkhawk figure getting the short shaft Vangelus! I've been waiting years for one and I'm a bit disapointed they're using an old body. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we finally got one, but using that as a justification for a sub par toy that could have been so much better gets real old real quick. All I really want now is a Thunderstrike that's not a mimimate and a Power Pack gift set. How much you wanna bet I'll see Headmaster Arcee first?
Pretty much this. DOTM has been a *real slow* burn, especially if you weren't on board for it in the first place. Prime and new Generations figures are still a month or two out and while there's been a lot of unlicensed product to talk about lately, its all stuff that's still in development aside of Exgraver and the FP Insecticons. The shame of it is, there's just not a whole lot goin' on to talk about right now. It happens, but things'll pick up again in due course.
We are people with more then one interest and the majority of the listeners have proven to also have interest in other topics. And just as we don't all share the same interest (Vangelus and Arron like Bugmen while Gog and I don't.) Not all the listeners are going to be interested in everything we all talk about. It takes extra effort for Vangelus to put chapter marks in the episodes so you can easily skip past part of the show you my not be into, if you're not downloading that version you can manually fast forward past it. If that's to hard we have pushed all the off "what we got" to the end so you can just stop listening. We talk about what new going on in TFs with TV and comics broken off into seperate episodes. If we covered those thing in regular WTF episodes they would be longer and have more TF related talk but we would still want to talk to each other about the other things we are into. The other option is do segments looking back at the past. In my opinion Canadian Slag does that like champs so why compete? Like Aaron said a few posts up, we are in a dry spell. I go to the stores around here and they have the same TFs hanging off the pegs they did 2 months ago. I can't speak for the others but lately the only interesting toy news has been what the 3rd party people are up to with the only official TF toy I have bought in months being from Revoltech and not Hasbro. But I don't know why we have to reiterate these points over and over, the show is what it is like it or not, it's up to you. ...Just sayin'.
Might be time to craft a stock cut and paste reply for just such an occasion. Something along the lines of.. "We deeply apologize for any dissatisfaction you may experience with our internet media productions. Transformers topics contained in this production will vary with Transformers product and media availability. "Off-Topic" material can and will be included at the discretion of the shows participants. Material of "off-topic" acquisitions have been placed at the end of the show for your convenience!" Something of that nature anyway. If more of these retail chains would pull their heads out of their asses for just 15 seconds when ordering the first few waves of any given toy line we wouldn't be in these messes all the time
I was thinking something more along the lines of the Spoiler Section warning, but that works to. Totally needs some technical difficulty music to go along with it.
