I think if you want to look for forshadowing... I'd say any time Megs goes on about his destiny is a bit of that also his behaviour when he was mind linked with Bumblebee. I think Megatron was keeping much of his plans to himself afterall some of the Decepticons might see raising an army of the undead or cavorting with Unicron as a bad idea... and it might add weight to the idea that Megatron is a mad as bag full of squirrels in their minds.

But the generous explanation is that if they thought the prophesy pertained to Cybertron they may thought it was irrelevant until it showed up as a the beginning of the episodes a gravity spike on Ratchets sensor and they realised that it applied to Earth I think we joint them at that point in the episode when they realise the prophecy they'd have forgotten was about to happen under their noses on Earth.. and not Cybertron where they'd not see it as relevant if the place had already had the heart ripped out of it.

I'm surpised you didn't mention how there was a complete reverseal of the 86' movie with Prime now about to deliver the final blow with Megs. Only for Megs to get in the counter uppercut.
