i just say i voted for erector cause i wanted some support of micromasters in the hall of fame. we already are having three main g1 characters thrown in automatically into the hall of fame, lets us people who have no nostalgic attachment to said characters have SOMETHING. While i grew up with beast wars, i wanted to support erector. why? well because erector comes from an era of g1 toys i love, the micromasters. while i only have one (big daddy), i find the whole concept awesome and well, what micromaster is more famous than erector? i have wanted a g1 erector for a while now, just got too much stuff to buy right now to pick one up, but the people who started the campain for erector weren't voting for some "penis joke", they were voting for their love of the toy, the concept, and overall something that means a lot to them from their childhood, the main thing from my childhood has been put in (dinobot), so i want to help support someone's elses

let me guess, next you guys are gonna say erector sets are something perverts play with?

better erector get in than some dumb dino who's whole ploy is "stupid is funny".

Absolutely. There's a reason why nobody talks about them anymore.

    I am surrounded by deviants!

Maybe Seth was thinking of, you know, the actual Robotech model kit
line from revell-ceji, from where the Harmony Gold dudes got the name
(IIRC, since their first attempt to bring the series was an actual dub
    macross).

There was a comic series for these as well, from DC.

I don't think anything else fits his recollection.

Oh, gee. Personal attacks on me. Haven't seen that before. :rolleyes2  I was perfectly fine with "letting it go". But...
So you're saying you wasted your vote.:)

I feel that most of the people who voted for Erector voted for him for the wrong reason. That reason being because of his name and to be part of a big April Fools joke. Is it 100% the fault of the fans that they voted for a joke. No. If the voting was in the first week of March, would Erector still have been nominated? Maybe, maybe not. Would he still have gotten as many votes as he did? I'd like to think no. But there is no way of knowing. Hasbro picked a bad time, in my opinion, to do this.

Now there are a lot of good reasons to vote for a particular character. Because it's your favourite character. Because it's your favourite figure. Because you like their voice. Because you like a comic or episode they were in. Because the character deserves to be in a place of honor like the HoF. Etc. Etc. But voting for a character just because they have a funny name is not a good reason. Just like voting for another character just to beat the character you dislike isn't a good either. But hey, that's just my opinion. And last time I heard I was entitled to it. It's not like I'm presenting it as fact.

You can vote for Sky-Byte if you want. Who doesn't love the coolest poetry-reciting shark in town? Or how about Star Saber? The super-slicing, sword-swinging Cybertron from Seibertron. Or the demented double-spy Punch/Counterpunch. There's nothing with wanting to vote for a fan favourite character. In fact, I encourage. I would have loved to see someone like Sky-Byte be one of the finalist!

And don't get me wrong I don't hate Erector. And I can laugh at Erector too. Ha. Ha. Ha! There. See? But I don't believe Erector is anyone's favourite character. Why? Because he has no character! "Erector" has not appeared in any piece of fiction ever. "Cra-Gun" has, but NOT "Erector". Other than having a toy, Erector is almost non-existent. As far as the toy goes, seems like a decent enough little Micromaster. In fact, I'm adding him to my BotCon shopping list. But I refuse to believe that he's anyone favourite figure.

You know, I was amazed last year how the collective fandom came together and voted in the character in all of Transformers who deserved it most. I was so proud of everyone who saw that this was a chance to show Hasbro that we cared, that we loved this franchise. And in many ways, the character that we choose also represents us and show the face of the fandom we want to show to the powers at be. Dinobot said that we love deep, complex, interesting, well-written characters and that we can appreciate those types of characters and want more of that. Now look at this year. The fandom, at least as far as TFW2005 is concerned, seems to have done a total 180. I don't have to tell you what you're trying showing Hasbro by choosing Erector. I guess I shouldn't have expected lightning to strike twice in the same spot.

But come on. Going on just to personally attack me. Calling me narrow-minded. Obviously shows you don't know anything about me. So please don't try to paint me as the bad guy here. Hopefully come BotCon, we can have a intelligent conversation about the Hall of Fame without all the backbiting that seems to come with the forums.:thumbs2:

I will now share a video with my thoughts on this debate.

YouTube - On The Topic of Erector

I feel like two teams of steroid-foaming rugby players have burst into my living room in order to leg-wrestle over the pros and cons of the PG-13 re-cut of The King's Speech.

I'm sure that's it. Looking at the pics in your 2nd link the only one I ever had was the one named Nebo.

...Or that's what I would have posted just now if I wasn't dead from killing myself because all these people are still writing huge long pro/anti Erector diatribes. If I wasn't so dead right now I would tell those people that no one cares except for them.

United Perceptor has that problem guys. At least mine does. And it sucks because it's my first United figure and already I'm having 2nd thoughts about getting others.

Takara having better QC than Hasbro? I doubt it.

It's not a QC issue. It's a fundamental design flaw.

Agreed. And to re-iterate, it isn't any better on the United version. Fifty/50 on an import toy are not odds I like for the money I'm spending for it. Still, pretty looking toy.

I think that Hasbro probably takes a look at the feedback on toys and takes note, though if they retooled it to have the arms actually peg in to the body that might make the problem with the peg less relevant.

That still constitutes as a engineering problem which will need to be re-engineered and the lead time for such an activity could take a long time. They might address this way down the road with repaints but I won't hold my breath.

    Animated Lockdown anyone?

That's what I was thinking, retool it for future reuses of the mold. I have no delusions about a second run of Perceptor coming out that is magically fixed.

The orange discs on both of my Wreck-Gars were nearly impossible to separate when transforming him. All I did was loosen the screws on the back of his hip piece a little bit and they dislodge fine now.

One Automorph leg broke on mine (where the handlebars are pinned into the hard plastic), the other is fine.
