Thought I'd throw in my two cents why I'm in the Wreck-Gar camp, I feel that Motormaster's head on Prime feels a bit too high up on the body, Wreck-Gar with his backpack behind the head and the higher shoulders are just more aestheically pleasing to my eye. Still, I can repect DJW's decision to use the Prime mold am I am warming up to it slowly.

 

We're getting delightfully close to that double 69

 

Not finished yet, but 2 things.

Firstly Bumblemaster is genius

Secondly I find it strange that I give DJW full credit and support for control of his universe. Something which Lucas has driven me insane with his handling of the Star Wars universe. Comes down to the fact DJW is bang on and Lucas is well....

Thanks for throwing me under the bus Vang. Out of all the others who b*eido11*ed with me, you chose me. I feel so loved! After looking at it more, I actually like voyager Prime better as MM than Wreckgar.

 

Really great episode guys. I love it when DJW guest hosts. It's always really cool to get his insight into things with his unique perspective. I have to say that after hearing Derrick's reasoning for using the Prime mold that I completely agree with him. Also, seeing caitlindevi's custom "I can't go to Botcon so I made this" Motormaster today really solidified my opinion on the matter. If the official toy is half as cool as her version then... Dammit! I've got to figure out a way to get this set! I figured that Derrick probably chose to use Prime because it made the most sense to him in universe, especially upon remembering that episode where Prime and a couple other Autobots redeco themselves to impersonate the Stunticons and infiltrate the Decepticon ranks. With how much he likes to pay homage to G1 I just knew he wouldn't pass up the chance for a reverse reference (or whatever that would be). I'm surprised no one asked him to confirm the Kill Bill inspiration for Dragstrip's paintjob though. It would have been cool to know that for sure... unless it already was confirmed and I missed it, in which case never mind.

Slightly off topic, when the Toy Fair discussion devolved into concern/contempt for Bandai of America that reminded me of the news that Mattel is going to be handling merchandise for the new Voltron toys. What does everyone think about that? If anything I'm way more concerned about the fate of that future toyline in Mattel's hand than the Thundercats toys (although I love Voltron wwaaaayyy more than Thundercats so that's probably coloring my opinion some). What does everyone think about that?
