Why would he? They're pretty much the same. As much as you want to deny that fact, K-On! and Azumanga have the same vibe. Difference is Azumanga's a bit more extreme.

In a response to Vangelus's comment about what kind of TF collector would go for the US version of Rodimus whilst knowing about the Japanese version. Well the kind who post on fwoosh. Several posters in the Tf masterpiece thread have stated that MP-09 is too much money, and after finding out that the space Winnebago is a seperate piece with a fake hood on it. Moved them toward the Hasbro version.

The emphasis isn't that the first season was similar to Azumanga, but that it was similar to Azumanga without the acid trip. This makes all the difference in the world. Both share a similar initial setting/character dynamic, but ultimately, they've gone different routes. K-On drifted toward Moe while Azumanga went from smoking pot to iv dripping liquidized frog and funky mushrooms.

It's like, Ika Musume is similar to Keroro, but without the Gunpla.

It also depends on the importance of the space Winnebago to the individual collector. Naturally, if they can afford it, they'd rather get the full set, but it's not as if you can't get both Hot Rod and Rodimus forms without the trailer. And the sports car mode is the more appealing and iconic of the modes.

Now, getting the Hot Rod(imus) as a standalone and then paying ridiculous prices for a trailer add-on, that's when it wouldn't make sense unless the buyer simply isn't aware of the Japanese version.

Unless the add on space Winnebago parts came out well after MP-09 was gone from stores, and after the MP Rodimus was out of TRU.

Hey im not saying they arent similar, but he's said in interviews how much he hates the current direction of the industry and has mentioned that the "moe" genre is the worst thing to happen to it.

    Wow.

If anything, he should be blaming ecchi. That's way worse for the industry then moe.

Example: High School of the Dead: Great show bogged down by too much fan service.

Moe gets too much hate. Yes, it can be played out, but people need to stop acting like it's a source of evil. :lol

Dude also doesnt like too much fan service and I agree, it can be way more distracting in a show.

You are right that Moe itself isnt a huge deal, its just that when the show is based just around "Cute girls doing cute things" and instead of having that backed by good writing(Azumaga) is instead all the show is, we have an issue.

As I said on the previous page, for some people it may make sense to buy Rodimus and later buy the trailer because it splits up the overall price and spreads out the purchases. I'm willing to bet that there are many people who don't wish to drop 200 at one time on a single toy; even if it is a masterpiece.

Personally I don't care about the trailer. I like the Winnebago mode, but I am planning on just getting the US release as I don't have space for a trailer that I would sometimes use for vehicle mode.

Moe tends to be fan-service intended for a, shall we say, "less reputable" audience. The line between moe and ecchi is not that distinct.

    I'd say it is.

Moe is, as hupla, cute girls doing cute things. It's more of an animation style as well as a characteristic.

Ecchi would be cute girls doing cute things while we constantly get shots of her panties and jiggling boobs in the process.

While moe and ecchi can be combined, they're two completely different things.

Okay, I have a bit of a problem playing the podcast on my zune hd. It will download onto the software and onto my zune just fine, but as soon as I go to play it on my zune, the icon changes to a black square, telling me that the artist and album are unkown, and that it cannot play the video for this item. Any ideas?

I'm quite surprised to see how much you guys bashed the Igear BB and CJ figures. I think they look pretty decent, and would definitely get one if the price was right. But yeah, those arms are crap.

Honestly I agree with you. They look pretty good, but they could have done the same vehicle mode and similar robot modes without completely re-shelling legends BB. I think that's where there bashing came from. They, like myself, are probably just tired of igear just blatantly "stealing" hasbro toy designs instead of following the path of many other 3rd party products of designing from scratch for a specific need that hasbro can't fill.

I'm wondering how many more people would be accepting of Igear if they just kept to upgrade kits. I think their kup head is a pretty good idea which only adds to the nice fact that it's scratch built.

Ditto. I'm not losing any sleep skipping the more expensive version for a cheaper one that doesn't include a trailer for an alt mode I've never liked.
