Vangelus, I have to say I'm not sure I agree that Wreckers is a good way to show people what Transformers comics can be. I let my best friend, who is not a Transformers fan, read it and she was so confused by the end of it, she couldn't get into how great the story was. Thoughts? Comments? Should I have made her read Spotlight:Kup and other issues to get her ready for it?
It's worth noting that despite my thoughts, it won't work 100% for everyone. By a similar token, my friend Keith had not read Transformers comics for over a year or so (I think?) and went into Wreckers basically dry, and loved it. You could always lend her the supporting material like Kup, but there's always a chance it just won't click with her.
There's also a chance that people just don't like Transformers. No magic will ever change that. There's no special comic book that will ever make me enjoy Twilight.
It has been! If you see it on a shelf, flip through it to see some unbelievably hilarious word-bubble-placement failure.
You guys should discuss the Beast Wars books that came out ahwile back. Not sure what they're about, never got around to reading it but the Omnibus colleciton version is at my Borders. It's got original Primal and Megatron from BW.
I think you should talk about Nefarious, perhaps when the miniseries comes to a close so we know more of the ongoing "mysteries" behind it all. I know you're not fond of some of the deaths, but I'd like to hear y'alls thoughts on the rest of it.
Perhaps worth noting: Spotlight: Ramjet was written by the same author as New Avengers/Transformers, and follows up on Ramjet's appearance in that crossover. I finally got around to reading Av/TF a few weeks ago, after years of it lying around on my bedroom floor. It's just as bad as I feared, but it's fun to see Ramjet's little story play out.
Regarding the discussion about the tfwiki and it's lack of information on Ironhide issue 2 - the spoiler warning tag is only to warn readers that spoilers are to follow (we put them there even if there's no text just in case somebody, perhaps not a regular member of the wiki, forgets to use them when updating articles). The spoiler stag usually stays for one month, then it's removed. The "Coming Soon" tag is for when information has yet to be revealed by official parties/partners/whatever and we'd rather have no information than potentially misinforming people. It is also used for TF Club fiction, which has a 1 month embargo on it before we can write it up. Anything else, we can write straight away when it's release. The reason why Ironhide issue 2 has no synopsis on it is because we haven't found the time or inclination to do so yet. We don't have to wait for any timespan to update an article about IDW comics.
Iron in the Blood - Transformers Wiki And I just more or less completed the article, just for you guys
So i finally got around to reading the last issue and listening to this, but my real reason for posting is this: about a botcon LSOTW set like you suggested, with a remolded head wouldn't animated longarm make a pretty solid representation of guzzle? The thought just occurred to me, they have essentially the same tank mode and he has the cannon on his back. What do you all think?
Just finished the Wreckers series. First Transformers comic I have read in years. Not knowing who all the characters were off the bat was OK. It had plenty of familiar faces to pull me in. This has truly been my gate way drug and I am on to All Hail Megatron. IDW App is awesome btw .
