A few shows ago I made a coment that if you talk to someone and they get all up in arms over it, it's bets to just walk away. "The Oscars are rigged, it's all politics, and I will never stop telling you about it!" I do like how I made one crack last night on Twitter and this supplemental became all focused at me. Thus is my power and infuence.
To further throw up flags on this Oscar season... Hurt Locker came out in Italy in 2008, but didn't release in the US until mid 2009. EVEN THEN, it only came out in 4 theaters. Then 9 theaters, then later it made it to around 500 theaters. That's why I didn't remember seeing anything about it.
Yes your tweet 2 days ago was so powerful it reached them almost 2 weeks in the past (If that sounds kinda douche-y it's not supposed to be)
Quentin Tarintino was robbed for best original screenplay. That's my big complaint about the Oscar results. The Hurt Locker doesn't succeed because of its writing, what makes Hurt Locker great is its direction, which is why I felt Bigelow deserved that for sure. And I would agree that it's a little sad knowing in the back of your mind that they didn't do it out of pure admiration of the film, with no polotics whatsoever. Sigh. Thanks for putting this up and just be thankful I wasn't there, because the discussion would have been another hour of rambling about how Inglorious Basterds was shafted and District 9 is better than Avatar.
